Pros: Engine, handling, ride, front seat lateral support, rear seat comfort Cons: Shifter, new instrument panel boring, only available as a sedan
For sport compact buyers who prioritize handling over acceleration, the S
VT
Focus was hard to beat. Unfortunately, Ford has decided that SVT will only sell expensive, high-horsepower vehicles in the future, and ...
Pros: Strong and linear acceleration, excellent steering, surefooted chassis, roomy interior. Cons: High-chair driving position, numb shifter and clutch, some cheap interior materials, somewhat mild demeanor.
My Experience I test-drove a Ford Focus ZX4 ST at a local dealership. My test drive lasted about forty-five minutes and covered city streets, winding secondary roads, and the freeway. Performance The Focus ST's 2.3-liter engine ...
Pros: Inexpensive, good gas mileage, reasonably good acceleration. Cons: Poor mechanical quality, poor handling characteristics, uncomfortable interior, uninspired design, etc.
This review is based on my rental experience with a Focus ZX4 (4-door sedan, with automatic transmission), which lasted just over a week. This car was essentially new with less than 7,000 miles. I decided to review it before I started driving it, and ...
Pros: Great on gas, good legroom in the back. Cons: Ugly, inside and out. Doesn't stand out. Has a history of reliability issues.
I love gadgets. Plain and simple. I'll be the first to admit that I love new features in cars. I love cars that push the boundaries, cars that find things to improve upon, even when everyone was satisfied with what was already there. In other words, ...
Pros: Headroom, comfort, handling, price Cons: Some things to make adolescents think it is a sports car are not convincing.
I was looking for a car with decent gas mileage, good handling and a clear view out the windows for a tall driver. The choices are extremely limited! Of many makes I looked at the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe were the only others ...
Pros: Affordable, Great Gas Mileage, Lots of Interior Room Cons: Interior Asthetics could be better
As a first time car buyer, I was looking for something that offered affordability, reliability and at the same time was fun to drive, and appealling to the eye. After test driving a handful of cars (most out of my price range, I might add) I stumbled ...
Pros: Value for Money, Spacious Interior, Good Fuel Economy, Reliable Cons: Poor Handling, Poor Braking, Dull Interior.
I purchased a 2005 Focus with 6,000 miles on the clock, as a run around for my wife. We looked at other economy cars, such as the Chevy Cavalier and Dodge Neon. Although they were both comparable in price, they did not offer the room of the Focus. Six ...
Pros: Ride, Acceleration,Handling,Solid construction Cons: Driver Controls and Rear Seat Access
The new 2.0L Environmentally friendly engine is very peppy from the start. The acceleration is pretty good, but it will remind you of your old VW Beetle from the 60's. The car APPEARS to be going faster than it actually is, because of the weight and ...
Pros: engine, hp, height, control, fun factor, comfort, space Cons: interior should be a little bit sharper
I just bought my new SE. This is my first completely NEW car and I am very excited. Overall, the handling is crisp and fun. The car is zippy, and feels more powerful than I expected. I am a large individual, and I fit quite comfortably in the car. ...
Pros: Mileage; storage; folding flat back seat; roomy back seat; cup holders Cons: Stereo sound quality; access to back seat;
This car was a great buy for the mileage. Personally my car can get anywhere from 30-35 miles/gallon. This car has a lot of storage. It also has good A/C. The stereo is neat on how it can pick up song names from Mp3 and store bought cds. This is also ...
Pros: Fuel efficient, drives smoothly, easy to park, compact car but surprisingly spacious inside. Cons: a cute little car, but not very powerful. Turning signal is loud.
I've been riding my 2005 Focus since October and so far I love it. It's a great car for first time owners, and it's easy on gas. I looked around quite a bit before deciding on the Focus, and I am very happy with my decision.
Ford Focus ZX4 SES, 2 liter, manual by ncpbpedp ,Feb 23 '07
Pros: Performance, Mileage, Handling, Ride, What's not to like! Cons: First set of tires were terrible.
American steel that won't let you down! It rides, drives and handles better than anything in it's class! This is my second Focus. I drove a 2000 ZTS for 4 years, put 138K on it and the only thing I ever done to it, other than normal wear and tear(tires, oil, etc...), was change the brakes on the front at 105K, gitcha some of that Honda, TOYota!!! I can't tell you how many foreign vehicles, especially Honda's, that I have hammered off the line. Don't waste your hard earned money on foreign CRAP, as I like to call it. And don't believe all of the reviews of how GOOD the foreign cars are. I've owned Honda, Nissan, VW, Toyota and guess what, they break down and fall apart too. REALLY!!!
Buy American steel!
Good package- loads of features by peck23462 ,Jul 19 '05
Pros: good stereo, heated seats!! Great Deal with Ford's discount for all Cons: roof rack came without bars, trans solid but clunky
Bought Blue wagon. traded in escort wagon. Giant step forward. I chose this over Escape because better mileage, more affordable, nearly same hauling. The one I bought had HEATED SEATS and HEATED MIRRORS!!! a big plus in Michigan winter. I have been driving around with the AC on max this summer with a car load of people. Still had reasonable MPG, everyone stayed cool and still had some zoom
I bought my new ZX3 1 week ago and already put 1000mi on it. My previous car was V8 Mercury Grand Marquise. I was surprised by great steering, good power, wonderful brakes, hight quALITY INTERIOR, nice cd player with MP3 playback. The car isn't noisy either. I can talk on 80mph without any problems. The only 'complaint' is driver's seat. Good but not perfect. I went camping, 8h drive one way, I folded backseat and got big trunk and packed all my gears easily.
I would call this car a family car but it's great powerful enough stylish and convinient car for nowadays' gas prices. And, of course, price; I payed for my ZX3 SE + sportpackage just 12000.
Pros: good handling, good engine, better brakes. Cons: fan noise, abs not standard , 5w20 (expensive compared 5w30!)
I bought this car not for the look but for the space we all need in a car! This wagon is full of space and handles like a sports car, not bad for under 19 000$. Ford has improved on may things in the 2005 models and its intresting to drive test one. The matrix (no space in back) the vibe (same thing) the volvo wagon (price!!) the subaru (need a loan!!) SUZUKI (suzuki.....) Not may choices out there when you want a 4 cyl. wagon with space. I think Ford has done a good job making that possible without the expensive price. Oh ya be careful with the Focus reliability chat......2001 is a long time ago. The 2005 is a new car all together.
