What kind of image could come to mind when thinking of rolls of plastic, duct tape and a man and a woman on Valentines day? The fact is, earlier in my life I would never have thought of making this purchase and presentation to my wife on that special day ...
Pros: easy to use, reduces drafts and heating costs Cons: 3M is a little pricey

Pros: Best tape for the job Cons: Slightly more expensive than generic

This product is the best overall. I most love that the tape and shrinking is far superior to other brands I have tried. I first bought 3M windows in response to TV ads many years ago here in New England to tighten up an antique house, but have also ...
Pros: Quality. best adhesive. No drafts. Clear. Can't see it. Cons: Does this qualify for the tax deduction?
I have used window insulation film for several years and vastly prefer 3M. The best adhesive! One year FrostKing just fell off all my windows. A real bummer. 3M can be hard to find but worth it.
For my patio door window, I have to go in and out. I sealed one-half the window (left side). I put a self-adhesive Velcro strip down the right side of the window frame and attached the film to that with the other part of the Velcro strip. Just "unzipped" the Velcro when I went out and zipped it up again when I came in. Last year I tried 3-inch strips. Faster to unzip. Not a full seal but it still is better than bare window.
I figure I can use this for 20+ years before I make up the cost of storm windows. Really makes the house more comfortable.
