Sony SAT-T60 DIRECTV Receiver with TiVo Service

Cons: Returned twice... stinks!

First receiver broke in 2 weeks (hard drive). Second broke in 2 months... forget this thing. Buy another brand. Sony expects you to pay to have it shipped, no loaner machine, and send you the same piece of crap you originally had. I have 5 Sony...

Pros: Tivo & DirecTV combo excellent entertainment combo; can't beat $5 a month for Tivo.

Tivo is a spectacular product, DirecTV as well, but this receiver is a lemon -- AVOID my pain and BUY SOMETHING ELSE.
We had it about 90 days before I had to ship it to Sony (at my $50 expense) for them to replace the harddrive (at MY $70 expense for labor - the warranty only covers parts). We were Tivo-and-satellite-less for two weeks while this was done. Now, 18-months into the game, the recording heads seem to have given out. We get recorded audio, but NO picture, and live TV freezes constantly and forget about pausing live TV or anything.
If you're the type who loves to be surprised by bills equal to your purchase price for a product which works just sporadically, I'll make you a great deal on mine (but hurry before I roof-test it.)
