What is the Multipass F30?
The Multipass F30 is one of Canon's two new entries into the new wave of combination inkjet printer/copier/scanners. The F30 is primarily designed for home users, although it can be shared over a network....
Pros: Crisp output; multi-functional; individual ink cartridges save money. Cons: The software's user-interface stinks. Expensive. Big!
Ive been using my Canon MultiPass F30 for six months, and am still happy with it. Because I tend to put my printers through hell, Im always shocked when one comes through, even after six months, unscorched. This one has, and without costing me...
Pros: Fast and efficient with great scans and rich colors. Cons: Windows XP problems, takes a lot of desk space, no power-save mode
I spent a few months researching for a multifunction machine to replace my old Canon BJC 2000. The BJC 2000 had a feature that would let you change the printer head to a scanner, which was neat; but, very awkward for most scans. I read bad reviews...
Pros: Takes little space. Prints fast! Cons: A little noisy.
I received this printer for Christmas 2002. The first thing I noticed was that it was a factory refurbished model. That bothered me a bit. I no longer am worried. This has been one of the best printers I have ever had.
I really liked the printer itself, and wanted to keep it. The printing speed is much faster than my old Epson Stylus 800, and the print quality is a lot closer to a real photo. Also, I really like the individual ink tanks (a big plus in my book).

Pros: Easy to use, color printer, photocopier, and scanner. Relatively quick printing. Cons: Ink could last longer. Didn't work with my old Windows95 machine (133mghz).
We priced and looked at all of the Multi-function printers on the market (epson, lexmark, etc.), and decided on the Canon MultiPASS F30. We paid $250 (at Best Buy), but it came with a $50 mail-in rebate.
I had problems with our old Windows95...
Pros: good color copies, fast black & white printing Cons: won't always print multiple copies
Availability/Price:
I bought this machine at Staples and compared it to other color copier/scanner/printers both at that store and at MicroCenters. Staples price is currently $179.00 and MicroCenters is listed at $299.00.
Pros: Simple to use, print is very clear in black and color. Cons: You MUST use Canon's software program for the machine to work.
I bought this printer for small office use because it was rated the highest by a consumers' magazine for cost of use vs cost of the machine and quality of printing etc. So far it has lived up to the magazines's description. I liked it well enough I...
Pros: Easy to use, great printing ,& well designed.Ink can be refilled saving you $. Cons: Price. You'll get it back in savings made on refilling the ink. :)
We currently own a cannon BJC3000. We've had other printers, but this by far is the best. When we went searching for a multifunction machine this played a big part in our decision making. Cannon is top of the line in my book on printing. Good quality and...
Pros: Print quality, ease of use and set-up,features Cons: a bit pricey, does not have a shut-down mode.
This is the best printer I have owned and i have owned Epson, Xerox, and HP. I even sold my Xerox M950 to get this. The M950 would not load properly with Win XP. The Canon loaded flawless. I used the parallel port on both as I find it more stable.

Pros: Excellent service, good print quality Cons: photo printing issues--colors not always good
We've purchased this product for our business and find that we have been very satisfied with Canon's tech support and functionality. I would like to see a little faster speed in copying (runs about 30 seconds per copy)and have had some problems with...
Pros: Wonderful photographs Cons: Rather large unit
Some of the other reviews are so thorough that I can add nothing new. However, I purchased my Canon Multipass F30 three months ago, and I love it. My family and coworkers have been amazed at the very high quality 8 by 10 color photographs I've been...
Pros: Good color, fast output, easy to operate. Cons: Complicated but clear to set up. A possible ink guzzler.
I went into the store, ready to buy a multi-function printer and interested in the HP. But when the salesman made a color photocopy with the HP and another with the Canon F30, there was a significant difference. The Canon product was clearer, and more...
