iPAQ H3650 StrongARM SA-1110. Is it worth the RISC?

by GrnEydCowboy , Nov 28 '00
Pros: lightweight-great color display-price
Cons: none
Face it! Today lugging around a laptop everywhere you go is not only impractical, it simply isn't necessary! In most cases, as you travel the world on business trips, you are checking E-mail, sending and receiving memos, putting together an Excel...

Oh My Goodness!

by tochriste , Nov 25 '00
Pros: attractive, great colors, quality
Cons: expensive, hard to find
I really think I am in love with this gadget. I have owned quite a few PDA's and many have been excellent, yet were missing one thing or the other. The Compaq Ipaq 3600 series (no difference between the 3630 and 3650)is truly the best. I was previously...

A great product

by pushijima , Jun 21 '00
Pros: Fast, beautiful screen, small and light (relatively anyhow)
Cons: New processor type limits number of available apps
When I reviewed the HP Jornada 545, I thought that the Pocket PCs could kill Palm's hold on the handheld market. If the Compaq iPaq is representative of things to come, then I am now sure that it will.

The Compaq iPaq is the smallest and...

Windows CE's "Golden Child"

by Marf713 , Mar 25 '01
Pros: Style, 32 MB Ram, Windows CE
Cons: Expensive, practically only found on eBay
I have had my iPaq for a month or so now, and I am still lovin' it. It's sleek chrome and silver turn heads all the time at my work place. But enough with the looks, let's get to what is really important, the hardware and OS. Currently, the 206 MHz...

Ipaq 3650 and Expansion Packs

by abastow , Sep 27 '00
Pros: Ease of use both with and without expansion packs
Cons: a little bulky if you need to carry around the unit with expansion packs as only one will store on the unit itself.
After having test driven the HP Jornada and having problems with it locking up, I was very anxious to get my Compaq Ipaq 3650. I was not disappointed! The screen is so clear, and I have had not a single lock up! My CF expansion pack finally arrived...

Hello iPaq, Goodbye Palm V!

by svenllr , Oct 08 '00
Pros: Best Color Screen for outdoor use PERIOD! Really fast speed.
Cons: Bulky with expansion pack... that's all I can think of.
I had the original Palm-sized PC (Windows CE 2.0) and appreciated some of its benifits; however, upon receiving a free Palm Vx, I junked it for the slimmer and faster Palm. Well, ever since the PocketPC was introduced in March of 2000, I've watched...

Finally, a PDA that feels like a real computer.

by gene.wedge , May 30 '01
Pros: Great color screen, it's a real computer.
Cons: Becomes bulky if you add a Compact Flash or PC card sleeve.
The H3650 is IDENTICAL to the H3630. The only difference is the marketing channel - H3650 is sold via the web and H3630 is sold through bricks & mortar outlets. Therefore I will take the liberty of plagiarizing from my own H3630 review:

I've...

Wow! And it's about time!

by dwswager , Nov 06 '00
Pros: Great Screen, Expandability, Functionality
Cons: Requires Screen Protection
I have to admit I wanted to like the Pocket PCs. This is due to my love/hate relationship with my Palm OS based TRGPro. The TRGPro is one of the best Palm based PDAs, but it shares the same limitations of low screen resolution, limited expandability...

Best on the market.

by ggrove33 , Mar 15 '01
Pros: Versatility, endless features.
Cons: Availability, price.
The IPAQ 3650 is by far the best PDA on the market. This piece of equipment is absolutely unbelievable. The screen and functions are very nice.

The IPAQ comes with 32meg of memory and a Windows CE operating system. There is an onboard...

The best PDA I've used yet

by dada21 , Apr 13 '01
Pros: Wireless Internet Ready, Bright Screen, Great Sync'ing with Outlook 2000
Cons: Expensive, Bulky with add-on sleeves
I started using PDAs with the first Apple Newtons (had 4 of them), then went to the Philips Nino, then two Palm Pilots, and finally I've added the Compaq H3650 Ipaq to my collection.

I wanted to wait for the H3670, but didn't have the...

Best Choice!

by sailaway38 , Feb 06 '01
Pros: Sleek Design, Bright screen, Super fast processor, price.
Cons: Lack of built in expansion slots, Difficult to sync using USB.
I just received my iPaq last week and was shocked that I could find one available. I had been using an HP Jornada 548, and was very comfortable with it, but when I saw the iPaq, I just had to have one. First, I was very impressed with it's sleek...

A Must Have!!!

by cj244 , Nov 12 '00
Pros: Ability to record; storage space; fast processor
Cons: Expensive; can be hard to use
The iPAQ is one of the best PDA's available on the market today. This PDA uses the familiar Windows interface, which makes it a lot easier to use right away.

The iPAQ comes with 32 MB of memory, and you can add storage cards to expand your...

I've used every PocketPC - this is the best

by bitbank , Aug 03 '00
Pros: Speed, Battery Life, USB, TFT reflective display
Cons: No CF slot, 'milky' display appearance indoors, poor button hardware
I am a software developer and wrote the PacMan emulator for Microsoft's PocketPC release in April. Being a software developer working with Microsoft, I have owned and/or tested every HPC/PPC/PocketPC device and so far, this is my favorite one. It does...

Simply, Amazing!!

by earthwirmjim , Aug 15 '00
Pros: Great Screen, FAST, Lightweight
Cons: Limited supply and no accessories
I purchased this product mainly as a neat new toy. They became available and I had noticed them on auction sites going for much more than they were worth. I had planned on re-selling it but after my first glance at it's sleek wonderful construction and...

Get it when and if you can

by stevedrew , Aug 10 '00
Pros: memory, screen and general feel
Cons: stylus storage and documentation
Alright. Everyone knows these are hard to get. But, it is worth the effort. I loved mine when I took it out of the box.

Having worked with several varieties of the palm pilot class, the color screen was the first blush of something deeper...
