Pros: Hotel food, pool Cons: Rooms, service, location, conference facilities, prices
A group of coworkers and I recently had the misfortune of staying at the Ergife Palace Hotel in Rome Italy for a business conference. I would like to preface this review by stating that nothing is exaggerated.

DON'T STAY AT THE ERGIFE PALACE HOTEL ROME
by supertraveler ,Jun 16 '05
Pros: The hotel is located inside Rome near bus transportation and metro transportation.... Cons: No customer service, substandard rooms, rotary telephones, dirty wallcoverings and furniture, no minibar, no hairdryer. .
I was with a group (52) of American military members staying at the Ergife for Memorial Day weekend. The Ergife is rated as a 4 star hotel with a pool. From start to finish this weekend was a disaster. The rooms were 2 Star quality at 4 Star prices, rotary telephone, wires hanging from the ceiling, wallpaper, dirty and falling off the wall...old formica sixties style furniture. No hairdryers or minibar. Most of all the service was the worse I've ever had in all my years of world travel. The reception people made it clear they did not want us there...only our money. The bar charged us 9 Euros per mixed drink thats about 12 US dollars per drink. The hotel also charged us 6 Euro to use the pool...10 Euro deposit for a towel... the location outside of Rome was poor...no restaurants only MacDonalds. 4 Elevators, only 1 working. But the worst part was the poor room quality and the service, just not what I expected.

You are advised not to book your conference at this "hotel"!
by ldggrr ,Oct 10 '03
Pros: The hotel is in Rome (just about) Cons: Bad service and appalling conditions for what purports to be a 4* hotel
I had the misfortune to be part of an organising committee which booked the Ergife Palace hotel for our annual conference. If you are ever in this position and are considering this hotel - then think again. It was a farce of bad service, appalling rooms and overheated facilities from start to finish.
