Pros: If your expectations don't exceed the realistic capacity of the unit, you'll like it. Cons: Too expensive, but OK if you buy more than one unit and capitalize on savings.
My sister, a nurse, got one of the "professional" versions of these gizmos about a year ago; she keeps it in their TV/family room (one of several carpeted rooms in their house) and she absolutely swears by it. E.g., she makes all the same claims as most ...
Pros: Compact size, low electricity usage, simple design, produces a nice smell. Cons: Does not clean the air as well as a true HEPA filter, expensive.
BACKGROUND: Ive had my Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Quadra 4.0 (from here on referred to as IBQ4) for four months now. Its been in constant operation and I thought Id file a report with epinions.com. It was through this site that I found ...
Pros: Absolutely silent, easy to clean and maintain. Cons: Doesn't really make a significant difference in air quality.
I have two indoor dogs (30 pounds each) which shed lots of hair and dander. My wife and I both have allergy problems. We live in South Florida where A/C is mandatory for about 11 months out of the year, so the house is constantly closed up. In an ...
Pros: Works great. Save $-no buying filters. Quiet. Highly Effective. Great smell. Cons: Every new model has more new features-the con is that I don't have them.
**Update: First review was posted Feb 2005- Update Mar 8, 2009**I have had this unit since Feb 2001- today is March 8th 2009 and the machine is running as it did the day I had it delivered!! At this point, this even amazes me. I geniunely did not ...
Pros: Effective - no more sneezing

No filter to buy/replace Cons: can't think of any
Highly Recommend! I have used my Ionic Breeze Quadra for almost 3 years now. I bought a manufacturer inspected refurbished unit on eBay about $150 or $190. I've been using it 24/7 since I have a few parrots (their glands produce a lot of dust) and I ...
Pros: No filters and works amazingly well Cons: Expensive, but can get it cheaper on Ebay with the same warranty.
I had this unit for about three years now and it works as well today as it did 3 years ago. I have 6 pets - 2 ferrets (quite stinky), 2 cats and 2 dogs. The animals (and my fiance) have knocked it over many times and it continues to work.
Pros: Silent Running, Slender Modern Appearance. Cons: Pain to Clean Properly, makes noise when dirty
Purchased my Breeze about 3 months ago, so far so good, I have a Ionic System hooked up to my Heating & Air Duct system, so I didn't think the Breeze would have to work hard picking up the excess, but I was wrong. I clean my breeze about once a week,...
Pros: It really has helped with everyones allergies, not as much sneezing. Great with indoor odors. Cons: Cleaning, Price, annoying crackling noises.
I am writing this review because I was like you looking for the differences in quality air purification. Everyone in my household has hay-fever. When I purchased the two units I did have a dog, you would have never known she was there. It definitely ...
Pros: Small footprint, silent when working, easy to clean Cons: Apparently harmful to my health, don't feel it cleaned that much
I got my original Ionic Breeze in 2001. It failed to turn on in 2003. Sharper Image honored the 5 yr warranty and sent me a brand new one. That brand new one failed today. What you need to know is no matter how many replacements you get, the warranty is ...
Pros: expensive efficient quiet - mostly air smell clean Cons: can be a pain in the neck to clean it died :(
I have 2 Ionic Breeze filters (with the ozone filters) and loved it so much that I sent my mom the one with UV light to kill germs -she loves hers! One of mine just died :( I am so sad! I cannot find my warranty information can anyone help ...
Pros: A fascinating product causing a breeze without moving parts. Cons: Ozone - is it safe? Body design causes noise problems.
If your Ionic Breeze starts making buzzing, and crackling noises, and you clean the rods, and when it carries on you contact Sharper Image and they tell you to clean the rods, and you look on the internet, and it tells you to clean the rods, you have ...
Pros: you can SEE the dirt Cons: the popping sound, ugh, it could be designed better
If you look very carefully at the bottom of the unit, there should be a small triangular prong. It gets quite dirty with attracted soot/grime. If you can find a smallish type cloth or a damp but not wet q-tip swab, you can get in and clean this once ...
Disappointed with the Ionic Breeze Quadra by activelyx ,Jul 16 '05
Pros: It looks nice. Cons: It was too expensive and it didn't do the job.
I have a basement that is 20' x 22'. I has poor air circulation, and it is finished, so I bought the Ionic Breeze Quadra air purifier to help with the stale air. It didn't work. I kept it clean, and the best it could do was dispense an ozone-like smell. So I put in a separate central air conditioning system for the basement and one other large room upstairs, and now the air is circulated properly. No more stale air smell.
