Pros: Portable, optical mouse, retractable cord, great price. Cons: None.
The Kensington Pocket Mouse Pro/USB Connection Infrared Mouse is Great! By James P. Zaworski I purchased my second laptop computer before I moved to Taiwan to take a job as an English teacher. Both my first and second laptop computers are made ...
Pros: Great Form factor, oh so comfortable, excellent feedback, retractable cord, comfortable & grippy! Cons: How long is it going to last?
I also now own a laptop. I could have simply plugged in my new Optical Elite mouse from my Desktop when I needed a mouse for my laptop (I'm not wild about touchpads.)But, I travel quite a bit, and not only do I need a mouse that can work with minimal...
Review and Notes I was looking at my mouse the other day and said, "Heck, why not write a review on it! I bet it's still hot on the market!" There is, however, the new wireless one; the Kensington Pocketmouse Pro Wireless with a 5 year ...
i bought this mouse at the same time i bought my laptop in May of 2003 - and it has lasted since. that's over 1 and half years of usage, and it hasn't failed me yet. Apart from scratches and little dings on the surface of the mouse, it still works fine ...
Pros: Optical, Small mouse(good if you have small hands), Looks cute. Cons: THE CORD HAS LEAD IN IT, YOU MUST WASH HANDS AFTER EACH USE!
I bought this mouse for a replacement for my current ball mouse. This mouse is optical and is smaller. I thought it would fit my needs since I didn't have much desk space. It also has a retractable cord which I thought was neat and may reduce clutter. ...
Pros: Small, light, great retractable cord Cons: Cable storage a big squeeky
I bought the Kensington PocketMouse for my G4 Powerbook and am loving it. The two mousebuttons and scroll wheel work great and the retractable cord is a handy feature.
After 3 months of frequent use and travel the cord retracts like on the...
Pros: Very good; able to shorten and extend cord whenever I want Cons: None
I previously had an Apple Pro Mouse (which came with Apple computer). Had it since November of 2002. And then for some reason, the thing didn't work. The laser was working but not the tracking. So thus my brief hunt for a mouse. I was thinking of getting ...
Pros: Excellent tracking, cable concept is useful Cons: Not so durable
I struggled mightily to find the perfect portable mouse for years before I came upon this one in 2001. When you travel, there's simply no easy way to avoid the tons fo cords that can easily get tangled in your computer bag when you're rushing from ...
Great mouse until cord stuck by davegi ,Aug 19 '04
Pros: Small, looks good, nice to use Cons: Cord retraction mechanism failed
Looks like a quality product and is pleasant to use. The small size and retractable cord make it ideal for use on the road. Until the retraction mechanism doesn't, that is.
Very good mouse, but scroll wheel needs work by mithridain ,May 05 '04
Pros: Retractable cord; optical pick up good; small, but usable size Cons: Scroll wheel needs work; need to fix trackpad disabling problem
For moving the pointer around the desktop and for use with applications, this mouse is great. The retractable cable is nice, since I use it for travel all the time. I like the wireless version (my friend has one), but I did not want to have to worry about using a wireless mouse on a plane so I opted for this mouse. The optical pick up is really good as I sometimes use my pants since my Powerbook is on my lap. Kensington is a solid name in the Mac world, and IMHO it continues to be.
I have two minor problems with it. When I use the scroll down wheel quickly, the text that I am scrolling sometimes jumps back up. This is rather annoying. The other problem is that I like to turn off my trackpad while the mouse is plugged in. However, when I now do this, my trackpad does not work when the mouse is removed. Kensington says that this is a bug that Apple introduced with Panther (Mac OS X 10.3). There is a new beta mouse driver; maybe it resolves this problem.
Great mobile mouse until it breaks... by triplechris ,Nov 25 '03
Pros: portable, no setup required with OSX Cons: wheel loud, cord gets stuck extended
This mouse worked great out of the box. Worked great with my Powerbook 12", and fits nicely in the bag with cord rolled up, no fuss, no muss. Until, that is, one fateful evening when I pulled a little too hard on the retractable USB cord, and, due to the standard retractable cord operation of pull-to-retract, am now unable to retract the cord. So now I'm investigating avenues to correct the problem. But it's a big bummer. I suppose the lesson is don't pull your cord too hard.
Terrible Experience with this Mouse by las379x ,Dec 28 '03
Pros: None to speak of. Cons: Wouldn't work on my computer.
Loud and the wire is very flimsy (the retractable wire).
I have a brand-new laptop that is top of the line. I don't like the touchpad mouse so I bought the Kensington PocketMouse Pro. So far, the experience has been miserable. When I plugged it into the computer, the computer didn't recognize it. It knew there was something there, but wasn't sure what it was. I downloaded the drivers and installed them and it seemed to work fine until I re-booted the computer. Again, the mouse couldn't be recognized. I plugged in a friend's wireless mouse and it worked like a breeze, plugged in another USB mouse with no problem--but the Kensington mouse refuses to work. I'm returning it and never plan on buying another Kensington product again!
Besides it not working but for a few days, the click on the mouse is very loud and the roller-ball on top makes a lot of noise.
