Pros: Decent audio, good remote, BEST 2009 BARGAIN FOR INTERNET RADIO PLAYER. Cons: LCD screen only visible in optimum conditions, firmware needs updating to 1.09, no longer made.
Important Notice: Linksys has finally upgraded the firmware. In this review, you will see references to a problem where it doesn't play more than 10 songs in a playlist. That problem has been SOLVED with the release of firmware version 1.09 ...
Pros: Compact, slick looking, speakers included Cons: Horrendous installation, doesn't play Windows Media streams, couldn't even play most of my MP3 files
The idea behind the Linksys Wireless-B Music System is a fabulous one. In fact, back in the '90s when Larry Ellison was touting the coming age of the Internet appliance, the Internet boombox was the only example I could think of that would ever make ...
Pros: Playing MP3 streams throughout your home Cons: Lack of portability, MusicMatch Software, ability to play MP3s, No WMA/RA streams
When I first heard word of the Linksys Wireless-B Media Link WMLS11B, my mind wandered about the possibilities. I am a technology loser, so that happens. But to think of playing internet radio streams or my MP3 collection anywhere in the house without ...
Pros: Slick looking system; switch to change crossover/parallel network cable Cons: Several install/setup problems; music won't actually play; lack of feedback/error messages.
I recently received this product as a birthday gift from a friend, and couldn't wait to unpack it and get it set up. We have a running 802.11b network in the house for use with the laptops, and I'm a computer programmer by trade, so I figured it would ...
Pros: Great sound, highly compatible, a kool toy. Cons: Radio GUI has it's querks
I bought this and i love it. With a broadband connection it streams internet radio, and plays MP3's off of you computer. The included software (musicmatch) is kinda flakey but there are alternitives. All you have to do is a google.com search for "Upnp ...
Pros: Initial ease of setting up
Cons: Kept losing connection. Volume too low. Can't play inputed Internet radio stations
I purchased this product with the intent of just doing two things: 1) Play my music library housed on my PC and 2) Play a list of selected Internet radio stations that I like to hear. Installation: Initial installation went OK. The only problem was that ...
Pros: Works as advertised once settings are correct. Cons: Setup never mentions Firewall settings. Doesn't support Windows Media Player.
Received as a Christmas present. Installation was not as smooth as I hoped, couldn't get it to connect tot the server. Finally changed the setting in Windows Firewall to allow the server to connect. Works great now. My only beef is it doesn't seem to work with Windows Media Player. MusicMatch Jukebox is required.
Ahhhh, there are 2 times I said that! by gofish513 ,Sep 08 '08
Pros: looks cool Cons: get something else!
One was Not when I hooked it up, another wasn't when I tried to get it to stream radio, yet another wasn't after I read extensive reviews and set up support,(right!) I think the first time I said Ahhhh was after 3 hours of messing around with it, and had a cig. The other time was, like after that first cup of coffee in the morning, if you get my drift.... Too bad you can't flush the problems down too, it's too big!
Pros: none Cons: bad tech support. No warrenty support. Simply doesn't work in wirelesss mode
Don't buy this product!
I'm now on my second defective one. I've spent literaly hours on the phone with customer support and tech support who refused to aknowledge defect. The wireless feature of the prodcut simply doesn't work or is too inconsistant. My initia one worked of afew weks, then failed. The replacment one has never worked in wireless mode.
Linksys refused to replace the product until I got very nasty with them. Each time I called they would pass the buck or tell me to perform one more test. When the ran out of tests, they told me they wouldn't replace it, and that I had to take it back to the store where I bought it. I pushed back and finally got a replacement, of curse which doesn't work.
So basically, I give up. They win and I am out $100. I will never buy a Linksys product again though!
