Pros: TWO OVENS! Easy controls; easy to clean; even heating; lots of control Cons: Get better installation people than we did...
Exactly two weeks before Thanksgiving our stove died. It's the stove that came with the house we bought a year and a half ago, and we've been waging a battle with it ever since. First we had to replace the controller because it would start beeping...

Pros: Top burners are great. Power burner is highest BTU in business. Cons: Broiler needs 10 minute preheat time before it turns on.
What a great idea! Two ovens in the space of one. Only problem is, they haven't worked out all the bugs yet. Right after I bought it, we had several instances where flames would shoot out of the oven when we were using both at once! After several servi ...

Good, bad, and beautiful
by stanzo ,Jun 10 '04
Pros: Great burners, even cooking, exact temperatures on the oven. Cons: Two items unacceptable -- no oven door locks and 13-minute delay in using broiler.
This may be the best gas range available as far as the top burners are concerned. The top burners are excellent, the controls are where kids can't get to them, it looks beautiful, and works like a pro. But there are problems with both the ovens, one of which has been covered at length in other reviews. This has to do with 13 minute warm-up time (on my unit) before the broiler will come on. I too called Maytag, thinking there the timer was defective, and after half an hour on the phone, was told that the oven was programmed to delay the broiler until it reached a certain temperature. This is unacceptable and if I could return the range now, I would. The second problem is that there is no lock on the lower oven door. Most ranges have an oven door lock, and it is simply unacceptable in households with small children to have a high-powered oven right at floor level with no lock.

Ignitor fire
by michaelmclean ,Aug 07 '08
Pros: worked well until ignitor fire Cons: 20 months before a failure that resulted in flames should not occur
Last night the ignitor on our Gemini range (of course its more than 12 months old) not only failed, it actually shorted out and had flames coming from the control knob panel.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
How does one inform Maytag directly that they have a potential fire hazard issue?
