Cons: water activities are located outside of the hotel although are included

What a great vacation, great buy for the money. Amazing service, amazing room, beautiful view. Decent food and drinks. Could not have asked for more for the money. Extremely satisfied with this hotel and would return. Be sure to get an outdoor massage while you are there, the guy was amazing.

This place is not recommended! My room got broken into. The same room had a leak in the ceiling so the rain came directly into the room and onto the bed. The custodian took 45 min to come to the room. When I questioned the manager as to what was going to be done he informed me that I should have known it was rainy season. The management couldn't of cared less as to what happened. All they cared about was that they had their money and I was leaving the next day. I normally don't write reviews but I feel that I have to warn people about this place. There are plenty of better places that will actually take care of you if something like this happens. Be careful!!!

When we first arrived we were greeted warmly and did not have to worry about a thing....the attendants and front desk took care of it all! The buffets are not the greatest, but the waitstaff was friendly and very helpful.
We had a great view for a great price and would definitely return and recommend this hotel to friends.
When checking out we were actually left by our ride, but Alex got on the phone with the company and made sure they understood we needed to be picked up right then and it was not our fault for missing the bus. He stayed with us until our ride showed up while still helping out all the new visitors.

Again, I would recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon!!!

Cons: The price of sunscreen, should you run out, is very high. Take plenty from home.

8 of us went to Cancun June 2004. The Melia staff, with a little work, was able to get our rooms together. Everyone spoke English, but they really appreciated us trying to speak their language. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and very clean. Our rooms were spacious, and the ocean view was spectacular. We found the entertainment to be excellent, we went to the shows every night. Definitely don't miss "Cirque de Sol Melia"!! The staff was very friendly. The kids program was good... my boys never said once "I'm bored"! The food was mediocre, but we didn't go to Cancun for the food!!! The beach area was kept very clean. We found this trip to be extremely relaxing. We will definitely return to the Melia Turquesa, as a matter of fact, we have already made our reservations... this time there are 16 of us going!!!
