Smears the dirt - more work in the long run
by spacechimp ,Jan 05 '05
Pros: None
Cons: Need a lifetime supply to clean the mess that it causes on your walls.
All this product did was create smear marks, the more you try to get rid of the smears, the worse the smears become. All I wanted to do was get rid of the grime that was around my light switch and thermostat. I now have to clean my entire wall or repaint it. The sponge also broke in half the second time I tried to clean the mess that it caused. I would not recommend this product at all.

One of the greatest products ever invented!
by kimcd ,Jul 11 '07
Pros: So many uses for a good price.
Cons: None
I use these ALL the time. They not only remove crayon, ink, etc, but one time I also used it to remove candle wax. The time in came in hand the most was when my preschooler "detailed" my sister's car with a yellow, swirly stripe all the way around it with one of his plastic toys. It took it right off...it could have cost me hundreds to have her car repainted!

Magic Eraser Worked Great!
by lindajoys ,Sep 05 '05
Pros: Was safe and effective on my painted white cabinets!
Cons: Not for EVERY day use, since they do start to disintegrate after a few uses.
I received a free sample of this in mail, so decided to try it on my kitchen cabinets. I have white painted cabinets that manufacturer says just use water on to clean. BUT there are some stains that water alone didn't remove and I was afraid to try something stronger. WELL.. Magic Eraser did the Trick! Without much effort or rubbing, the stains came off in a flash.! So glad I got this sample.. and will definitely purchase it the future!

Not worth the time and money
by ahalloran ,Jun 16 '04
Pros: Does work well at cleaning up walls and floors.
Cons: You have to use alot of elbow grease to get this product to work.
I personaly do not think that this product is all that great. Yes it does clean up but you have to put alot of elbow grease to get it to really work. I've personally found a wonderful product that you can find at any home improvement store that will clean up anything with just a wipe of a towel called "Kut Kutter". It's a wonderful product and is alot easier to use than this one.

Mr. Clean saved my marriage.
by audleah ,Nov 05 '06
Pros: It works! It really works!
Cons: It doesn't last forever.
My husband was pretty angry when he saw the damage I had done to my new vehicle after backing into a pole. There were some pretty ugly scratches along the side. When I realized the "scratches" on my car were actually bits of paint from the pole, I got out my Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to see just how magic it really was. That eraser took out every single blemish on my vehicle! Thank goodness for the magic eraser!

Removed large marks from my walls after moving mishap
by jmm1999 ,Jan 29 '07
Pros: easy to use, no residue on walls, reusable
Cons: none
I recently moved into a new apartment and the movers (careful as they were) made several large scratches on the wall with my wood furniture. I really feared having to repaint the whole wall until someone recommended I try the Magic Eraser. It was a miracle. I was so excited, the scratches just rubbed right off and there was no residue or any sort of evidence that they had ever been there. It was too easy, and I am hoping that it will work just as well on other surfaces.

by clueloopy38 ,Oct 29 '05
Pros: Easy, Works Great, and Affordable!!
Cons: none whatsoever!
My daughter was moving our new tv into the living room and it scraped up against the wall. It lefts these dark black scuff marks on my peach colored wall. So I used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and magic it was. I didn't even have to scrub hard. The ugly scuff came off with ease!!

I give this product and A+++++!

LOVE IT!!!!!
by marinewife117 ,Nov 09 '05
Pros: Got ink out of my carpet and off of skin (to a point).
Cons: Does not last very long.
I originally bought the Magic Eraser because it came highly recommended by the parents of my 2 year old daughters playmates. I love it! It gets crayon off of the walls and television screen with ease. I fell in love with the Magic Eraser when it got ink stains off of my beige carpet as well as off of skin (to a certain point). The only negative thing about it is that it does not last for very long. I was only able to get about 4 uses out of it before it started to fall apart.

works like magic-till it falls apart
by mrbeachy ,Aug 14 '07
Pros: Inexpensive;cleans well for short periods;uses minimal amounts of water.
Cons: Disintegrates much too rapidly;need a lot of magic erasers to clean multiple areas.
This supposed to be a "Miracle" product and i wanted to see what all the hoopla was about. So i purchased a box which contains 2 magic erasers and went to work.

It works best on light colored surfaces such as light switches and areas painted white or off-white. I don't think that it works well on any other surfaces.

Be careful when using on colored walls
by nikongirl ,Sep 27 '07
Pros: Does work to remove stains on many other items.
Cons: Can damage colored walls.
I bought the Mr. Clean magic eraser after hearing about all the stains that could miraculously be removed by using this product.

I think overall this is a good products with drawbacks- doesn't clean large areas, crumbles, etc... But, I was able to wipe away grime on my semi gloss paint with no problems, ditto for my stainless steel clock.

This is my not so good experience....About a year or so ago I cleaned some crayon marks off my yellow walls in the hallway. It was so wonderful and I was so amazed and so happy. Well, a couple of months ago I noticed that the same areas I had cleaned with the eraser had faded noticeably. I was so shocked as it had not shown up until some time had passed. Well, I had to repaint the hallway. Please take note and be careful of using this product on colored walls.

Also, last night I used the eraser to try to clean off pencil marks on my dd's plastic desk. Did not work well.

Works like a charm on soap scum!
by joannes0 ,May 01 '06
Pros: Works exactly like it says--literally erases stains!
Cons: None that I can see!
I bought this thing trying to clean the thing soap scum build-up in my tub. I don't know what kind of tub I have, but scum tends to build up very quickly and very thickly in this one. I have never had this big of a problem with this stuff before. About the only things that have worked recently are the types of things you don't really want to be breathing and they take forever to start to work (30 minutes of scrubbing later, I'm light-headed and worn out before even little hand-sized spot is clean. lol). Even CLR and Lime Away don't work as well as they say on these stains.

So I thought I'd try this, see how good it really was. It was less than $3 at my local grocery store and two came in a package. I'm amazed. This thing works like a charm, exactly like it says. The sponge eventually disintegrates (like a pencil eraser does), but it took the soap scum with it. Thank you Mr. Clean. I can't wait to see what other hard to clean stains it erases!

Disgusting!
by tommiesgurll ,Jul 23 '06
Pros: GREAT at polishing things like faucets
Cons: Picks up odors, doesn't hold up well
This magic eraser is great... if you can afford to keep buying them over and over again. every time i went to use it after the last, even if i had just used it once. it picked up all sorts of nasty odors. and it was beginning to seem like it would be a rather expensive house cleaning supply... if i were you, i would stick to regular supplies and paper towels or sanitizing sponges. Mr Clean let me down with this one.

Product of the Year
by krazykritik ,Aug 20 '06
Pros: It WORKS! Period!
Cons: Rips apart too quickly, especially where there's small edges to clean.
Just like the title says. Finally, a cleaning product that does EXACTLY what it says it does! In act, finally ANY product that actually does what it says it will! Black shoe polish off a white painted wall, double sided tape residue from linoleum, grass stains from leather sneakers, grease from stoves and arborite counters, even bug guts off my car's bug deflector!
Might be a little expensive for the size and life length of the product but it saves a lot more than it's purchase price on other cleaners that can't do the job.

Even Rust on Shower Tile!
by gerflash ,Mar 24 '07
Pros: Even when it looks dead, there's still life in it.
Cons: With a really tough stain and a really old pad, you gotta rub a lot!
"NO WAY!" I said. "That rust is IN the tile; it'll never come out." In fact, I'd tried quite a few cleaners on it while helping my kids get their house ready for sale - they were putting it into "military inspection" status. I was assigned the shower. After some useless scrubbing, my daughter-in-law suggested I try her Magic Eraser remnant. She liked them, but hadn't remembered to buy more at the store. It was nearly all used up and flat, but nothing else worked, so I started rubbing with it and right away noticed the big, dark, rust colored patches starting to fade. In honesty, let me say that it took about 500 rubs, and a lot of elbow grease, to get rid of those stains, but they completely vanished, and I was way impressed. My daughter-in-law asserted that it'd have been much easier with a new pad, but what amazed me is that even the very old, worn out one still worked.
