It really is MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC
by samarghandi ,Oct 07 '05
Pros: works great, holds up well, cleans just about everything. Cons: none
Wow, what a awesome product this is !!!!!! I LOVE it and cleaning stuff is not something i usually get excited about. Since it had such great reviews i though i'd give it a shot. I originally bought it because our two year has just discovered the fun of scribbling on walls. So yesterday i started with the walls and all the crayon and pencil marks came off with absolut ease. I then went on to cleaning the outside of the fridge, and all of the kitchen cabinets. I then went through the house, cleaned all dors and doorframes, all window seals, and all the baby gates. So i pretty much cleaned my house with one little sponge and i still had life left after all this.
I'll go to target later on and stock up on this one.
Since i have a two year old and a ten month old i don't like to keep a lot of deteregents, and with this there is almost no need to have other stuff.

Works wonders on old crayon.
by brfuller2001 ,May 20 '04
Pros: GREAT!!!! Cons: None so far.
I got a sample in the mail and did not use it for several months. Then I got in a mood and I was won over when it removed crayon that was over a year old. After that I was honey I am stocking up on these. I have used them for many "works of art" and you cannot tell they were there, which is a good think (we rent). I am so happy with them. My bathtub shines for days after using them. Water seems to just I do not know how to describe. I love it. I cleaned my tub daily before and still do but gosh it is so easy.

I love these things!
by magister96003 ,Jul 21 '06
Pros: It cleans marks I can't get out with anything else. Cons: It is used up rather quickly.
I am currently working on some red pen marks on a white-painted closet door. It is taking some work, but they are coming off! When I first saw this mess I thought we would have to repaint the door at least.

It's Awesome!
by micmac118 ,Jun 11 '06
Pros: You don't have to use much pressure. Cons: Wears out rather quickly.
I figured I would give the magic eraser a try because it wasn't too expensive. I've purchased about 5 more packages since then. The first thing I tried to clean was a scuff mark on my kitchen floor that had been there for about 3 years because nothing would take it off. One swipe and poof...it vanished. I'm totally hooked. There isn't anything I have found that it won't clean!

A Definite Magic Trick!
by skalerfie ,Mar 20 '07
Pros: Removes even the toughest spots and scum! Pretty inexpensive. Cons: You'll need a bunch because they don't last long!
Whoever invented the magic eraser was a genius! This tiny little sponge does wonder on all types of marks, scuffs, and scum. You can use this eraser almost anywhere and everywhere and you'll be amazed each time! When we moved 2 months ago I went through 4 of these as I cleaned every room, ceiling to floorboards. They also worked great in my appliances and on the shower walls. Even the scuff marks from my kids' shoes on the walls came off! I have had friends even use it on permanent marker marks and it has worked. This is a definite must have for every family.

The best cleaner
by jinxxmom ,Jun 15 '06
Pros: inexpensive, quick, convenient, more than delivers Cons: leaves a "smear" on flat painted drywall - (nearly invisible)
I use Magic Eraser to clean the exterior of my fridge, my walls at the corners, door handles, stair walls, the bannister...wherever there are fingerprints throughout my house! Although it leaves a dull (and almost invisible) mark on some flat painted surfaces, it sure beats the dirt that was there! I even used it to remove ball point pen ink from my butcher block top kitchen table...and from my son's fingers! We love this thing. My kids love to clean with it. Now that's impressive!!

A warning (from poison control)
by chotii ,Mar 21 '06
Pros: Effective abrasive cleaner Cons: Skin irritant, undisclosed chemical components can burn, can abrade or blister skin
Even though the only warning on the box is that the sponge should not be ingested (obviously), and even though in most cases they cause no irritation to your hands (although if you look through the reviews here, there's one such)...
Never be tempted to use this sponge to clean anything off human skin.
I did. Within half an hour, every spot I had rubbed was angry red, burned looking, and painful. Poison control advised soaking the affected areas in water for 30-45 minutes and take Tylenol or Benadryl. This morning, the spots are still pink and irritated, with small abrasions. I was told to consult my doctor if blistering occurred.
Poison Control also told me the sponges contain formaldehyde and sulfiting agents.
UPDATE 3/23/06
There is no question that the sponges are very abrasive even though they don't feel like it to the hand. Everywhere I scrubbed skin - and I did not scrub hard - became abraded with fine, shallow scratches that scabbed over. This did not hurt at the time, yet the damage was done.
My first reaction to these sponges was one of unadulterated delight at their effectiveness. But that has been necessarily tempered now.

Works very well but irritates sensitive skin
by magazineworker ,Jun 15 '06
Pros: Works well Cons: Irritates skin
The product cleans very well. It removed gunk on my floor tiles I had no idea was there (the before and after are unbelievable). But I used it without gloves, which I wouldn't recommend. It's been several hours and my hands feel very dry and irritated. Interestingly, I tend to get stains on my fingernails from newspaper, which don't come out. My fingernails are spotless now, but my hands are uncomfortable. My advice: Use the product, but wear rubber gloves to protect your skin.

Dangerous to skin, causes serious burns and blisters
by ggdavies ,Aug 02 '06
Pros: none Cons: dangerous to skin
I had a similar reaction as another reviewer. I wish I could include a photo of my arm to show what this product did to me.
I was shocked that a soft sponge with no cleaning agents could do this to me. I was cleaning with the magic eraser and it rubbed against my upper arm and caused a serious burn with blistering and I had to go to the emergency room.
It took about 15 minutes before the reaction occurred and has gotten progressively worse after 3 days. I am taking prendisone for the inflammation and codine for pain and treating the wound with prescription burn cream and keeping it wrapped in padded gauze.
Please be careful when using this product.

It IS Magic! It Cleaned My Walls Lickity-Split
by buttercup123 ,Dec 31 '07
Pros: Removes dirt and scuff marks off of walls like magic Cons: Each sponge doesn't last very long
I had been sitting looking at my newly painted walls (5 month old paint job) and feeling very depressed. After moving into the house (furniture, etc.) there were lots of scuff marks, etc. Also, my dog likes to rub her face on corners and they became very grimy very quickly.
After hearing some of my family rave about this product I decided to give it a try. Well, in 15 minutes my walls were like new! My $7,000 paint job is back and I'm doing a happy dance. I really can't believe it. I didn't think anything could take the grime and scrape marks off. But Mr. Clean did!

Hardwood Stains
by tina80 ,Sep 25 '07
Pros: Quick results, no follow-up necessary Cons: should come in mini sizes for small jobs.
i had a dark stain from moving a heavy storage tote over wood. the only way according to websites, was to scrape it off somehow and refinish/re-wax it. tried vinegar which didn't work but before i tried something more abrasive like suggested (S.O.S. pad), i thought i would try the magic eraser. worked like magic just like the name!! after very minimal rubbing, it came off. didn't affect the wood or did not need to be refinished.

Easiest Wall Cleaner
by tekkie4u ,Sep 12 '07
Pros: Quick and Easier than repainting Cons: streaks on some walls
Scuff marks be gone! Moved into a new home and was about to repaint all the rooms, when I decided to try magic eraser. Now all the walls look freshly painted! There were a few rooms that needed to be repainted - mostly to change the color.
