Pros: Good power, easy to start, attachments work as advertised! Cons: Not light weight...but then, you have to expect that.
I live on seven acres of wooded land which I tame in the immediate vicinity around the house. There is constant maintenance for the grass, trees, and "domesticated" areas around the house. I needed a good gas powered string trimmer, brush cutter and ...

Pros: Great Value.
Lots of expansion possibilities.
Widely available through Home Depot. Cons: Not quite as torquey as similar Husqvarna unit.
Vibrates more than the Husky.

Utter garbage, do not buy
by trambo1969 ,Jul 23 '09
Pros: 1HP engine makes incredible power. Low price. Cons: Bad carb design. Bad spool design. Overall garbage.
Bought this trimmer from Home Depot last year, to replace a 7 year old Ryobi that died. The old trimmer was a good tool that worked well for a low price. Unfortunately, this trimmer has only been a major disappointment. After perhaps a month or two of use, the carb went out of sync, and cannot be adjusted as it is tamper-proof with no throttle mixture screws. It only runs now between Full & Half choke, often dies under load. The new designed spool is ridiculously complicated and takes 20 minutes to load with new string. (In comparison, the old Ryobi design took only 60 seconds to refill) The owners manual lacks good instructions or diagrams to help you with anything about this trimmer. I'm very upset over this, and this will be the last Ryobi power tool I purchase.
