Pros: An educational experience! Cons: Parents need to pay to do nothing!
So, the kids are out for the summer, you are about to go out of your mind, and you know you can't go do Disney in a day....what else is left to do? Wanndo City! That's what! Wannado City is a role-playing theme park exclusively for kids. If ...
Pros: Educational, innovative, fabulous Cons: expensive but actually worth it
Wannadoo City at is located at the Sawgrass Mills Shopping Center, a huge discount mall in Fort Lauderdale. My daughter knows I HATE Sawgrass Mills so in order to get me to go to Wannadoo City she had to explain that this was not exactly inside the ...
Pros: kids get to experience occupations Cons: noise level, employees, safety issues, execution of concept
On the surface, Wannado City is an awesome idea. It's an indoor theme park for kids that is devoted to role playing. Kids get to try out dozens of different occupations from grocery stocking to television reporting to acting. Sounds great, eh? Well, I ...
Pros: Well, not sure. Not much was working. Cons: Very poor management.
I truly appreciate the review of this attraction and the great experience they had. Unfortunately, our experience was not the same. I wanted to warn others...just in case. Actually, looking back at it, it's actually very funny how poorly this was handled ...
Pros: Security, FUN, experiences can be customized for your child. Cons: Can possibly be crowded, clingy or shy children may have trouble separating from their parents.
Wannado City is South Florida's newest and in my opinion best new attraction for kids. It is located at Sawgrass Mills Mall which is quite the destination in itself. Sawgrass is a large mall composed of outlet stores, a movie theater, and themed ...
Pros: Geared towards kids aged 3-13; lots to do; kids really have fun doing various jobs Cons: Expensive; not a lot geared towards boys; food is expensive
As a resident of South Florida (Broward County in particular where this park is located), my daughter (age 7) has now frequented Wannado City four times (as of this weekend). I have to admit, the concept is an awesome one. What's even more amazing is ...
Pros: Concept is good. Cons: Execution is not. Place is too dark. Staff lax and not attentive Many venues unavailable.
We honestly thought that our 5 year old granddaughter would love this place after all the positive feedback we got from other grandparents. However, it did not turn out as we expected. While the concept of Wannado city is good we found it ...
Fun, exceeded my expectations by nacalapirinaca ,Mar 31 '09
Pros: did not wait too long to enjoy activities Cons: Price may be too high
I was very surprised after reading all the reviews about this place, but I am very pleased to say that Wannado city exceeded my pre-conceived expectations. My sister and I took my daughter and niece, who are both 4 years old , and two 11 year old boys who also had a great time, we all had a great time and will do it again. I would love to come back and let my husband enjoying seeing our little girl "performing her duties and getting paid" I am aware that this is not the ideal place if you as parents are looking into possibly leave the kids to enjoy themselves and perhaps go shopping as tempting as that may sound, specially because kids under 7 cannot be left alone. I had a great time seeing our little girls become models, firefighters, police officers, etc. The concept is great and it really encourages children to get involved. I do not think it would be appropriate for children younger than 4 because they would not be able to participate and enjoy as much to understand it. I had a great time and I would love to come back!!
I took my kids during their winter break because one had missed this as a school field trip. Good concept gone bad. The attractions (occupations) are led by teenagers (could have actual people from the industries presented). Groups of kids run loose - no apparent supervision.
Basically suffers from poor management, I would rather pay more and go to disney.
My kids were extremely disappointed and very bored.
Not great for toddlers and preschoolers by because8 ,Apr 24 '07
Pros: Someplace new? Cons: Not family friendly
WC was not great for us as my children who are 2 and just turned 5 are not comfortable leaving me to go do something with strangers. Parents are not allowed to be with their children. That just seems unfamily friendly. Probably better for older more independent children.
Also we went during the week when it is less crowded and found that half of the sections were closed. Dissapointing.
Poor management and rude managers by florian2009 ,Aug 30 '08
Pros:
n/a
Cons: n/a
This park seems to be run by untrained teenagers and unprofessional managers. 5 out of 10 area were closed and open places had way too long line. One of the popular open area is fire fighter station and we had to wait for 45 minutes to get in line. One of my worst experience there was the entrance way. The employees have their own rules and they don't seem to get trained properly. One employee said you have to pay for security band for all kids and other empolyee said the fee applies only to kids over a certain age.
The lines in the entrance way was terrible because they don't know how to handle all these little things. When you complaint about their poor management, managers never apologize and are so busy to blame on others. When I left wannado city and decided never to come back, I saw a few other parents who said the same thing.
If there is one thing educational for kids. That is...they learn what a poor management is like.
Pros: Great learning experience for kids Cons: Parents unable to participate with children
We took my 4 year old son to Wannado City in Feb. We liked it but it was a little difficult for him to go at that age and do the activities by himself. Staff assist the kids but parents aren't allowed to participate in the activities so if you have a shyer child they may not enjoy it. It would be better to go with more than one child so they can go through the activities together. Overall- a great concept! Helps children get a real look at different types of careers.
Pros: located in center of mall Cons: Small park. Unfriendly staff. Very expensive.
My 4 kids were looking forward to this park. Sadly we were not treated well and found the staff to be very unprofessional. Upon entering the park, we were advised that almost half the attractions were closed and many others were not fully staffed. Neither their website nor their automated telephone service gave any indication that this would occur. We were rudley told that this is "the way it is." As you can imagine, the lines at the few operating attractions were insanely long. The park is much smaller than its advertisement would suggest. Unfortunately, there was no one available to discuss my family's concerns.
