Regular Over Premium In Most Cases...
Jun 08 '00
I believe that the only reason one might need to purchase premium gas to put in their vehicle is if they're running 10:1 compression, or greater, or maybe they've got a small pinging noise, sometimes a higher octane gas will take care of this problem. However, vehicles noises should always be checked out before they turn into a major and/or expensive problem. Personally I put regular gas in my vehicles, the extra .20/gal. isn't worth it for what "little" it might do. My older, let less experienced brother has a 96 Z-28 Camaro and he just insists that it has to run on premium or else it won't "run right." Heap of bull.
