You get what you pay for, sometimes

When you are a car enthusist like me, your vehicle is everything to you. I have noticed that I am a lot more careful driving in my truck than in other vehicles, that sounds bad, but that is how it is.
When I first got my truck, it needed work, not body work, but little things. I put dual exhaust on it and that day someone backed into me. I was in a Shell parking lot and I saw something in my rear view mirror. I looked back and I saw a Ford F-250 backing up, my mouth dropped. I could of avoided the whole accident if I gave my truck a little gas, but I was in shock because I knew that he was going to hit me. He did, and I got his insurance information. The first thing that I did was to go get estamites on how much the dent in my bed will cost to get fixed. I was wanting to get my truck painted, so now that it is going into the shop to get fixed, might as well get it painted too, right?
The damage was $1,400 worth. So I fianlly got a check from this guy's insurance company and took it into the shop. I had to pay $3,000 more for the paint job, but that is a whole different story.
This guy that worked on my truck is a really good body repair guy, his painting is good, but he did not have the proper equipment, like dual exhaust fans.
He used lead fill instead of the usual bondo, which will last longer than bondo. I can't even tell where the dent was, unless I rub my hand on the inner side of the back fender and I can feel where he pounded the dent out.
The whole moral to this is, check around, I didn't and I think I could have got a better price. More so on the paint, but I didn't have to pay for the body work. If you have to do the body work on place and the paint work at another palce, I suggest you do that.
Just be careful who you let work on your car!
