I bought this truck/SUV about 4 months ago, from a rich friend who hadn't used it much. Had 17,000 miles on it. I immediately drove it 400 miles into the mountains of New Mexico, fully loaded with 4 adults and the bed full of luggage and supplies. Very smooth on the highway, and though I have the 2 wheel drive, the off road tires inspire
confidence in the dirt. Comfortable seats and positioning, could use adjustable head rests. Love the
power rear window. If you like music definitely upgrade the stereo as the stock unit with four speakers is very average.
No mechanical problems in 26,000 miles.

I bought my truck in October 2001 and it now has 109,000 miles on it and I'm planning on putting at least that much more in it! It's comfortable, versatile and meets my needs. I had an Explorer before this one and kept it 7 years. (It's still running too!) I do occasionally miss not having a covered cargo area, but overall, it's been so much better to have the bed with the extender. I've hauled everything from swings, furniture, mattresses, firewood, 4-wheelers, groceries, garbage cans, dogs, large power tools and much more. I'm only 5' 4 1/2" and it's a perfect fit for me, whereas other trucks have seats that are too deep. I love the adjustable seats and can drive for hours in them. The backseat has plenty of room for large adults, and small children with all the stuff kids need. My parents have ridden in it and find it easier to get into than a full size truck or a lower sitting car. If I could go back and buy it again or something different... I'd get the same exact vehicle... but maybe add the bed cover. =)
