Pros: Amazing acceleration for a 4 cyl. engine
Well thought out interior Cons: None!
Ok, my husband is my first love, but I must confess. Give me any reason to hop in my Subie and I will be off. I can't believe this small car has so much going for it.
Let me preface by saying that we researched cars on the web, in many...
Updates - 8/22/07 Still going strong at 35K. At my 30K service I had to replace the clutch and front brakes. The heat shield is loose despite two adjustments so it will be removed at the next oil change. Still on original tires, but I will ...
The 2002 Subaru Outback Sport has a lot going for it... AWD, strong styling, great acceleration for it’s class and responsive handling. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Not exactly.

Pros: In the silver it is really nice looking. Fantastic handling through turns. Cons: Rear drum brakes
Cheap plastic feel in the interior
cheesy stock sound system
Yes, you read it correctly. I actually was leasing a 2000 BMW 323i and I had to make a move when the lease ran out. I opted to buy this time, and being a big fan of subies in my college days, I decided to just buy a new one. The monthly payment basically...
Pros: All-wheel drive #1, size and everything else, just great. Cons: don't like my standard stereo much
I used to be a Toyota buyer, but when I was ready for a new car they didn't have a model I wanted. So I branched out, and I'm not going back. Nothing can compete with all-wheel-drive, bottom line. I drive a lot and drive far, and it's great to always feel in control of the road, no matter the weather, and I'm in NJ so I get it all. I got mine with a stick shift, I probably will again. The dealership where I got it was so nice it was weird. I'm not used to having a pleasant buying experience.
I do wish I'd upgraded the stereo, and there are a couple of default behaviors I'd change, such as how the lights come on when you start the car, and you can't leave them on with the keys out, that sort of thing, but my next car will be a Subaru again.

Pros: Best AWD around, reliable engine that will take you wherever you want to go. Cons: Brakes...I'll never understand why Subaru put rear drums on this car. Noisy interior.
The Subaru Outback Sport isn't a car for the masses. The strength of this car is the ability to perform what it was designed to do..no more, no less.
The exterior is aggressive, but simple. Inside, the car is all about functionality. There are very few buttons or dials and no gadgets that are worth mentioning. The cabin is spacious and uncluttered and it is as large as it could be for a car its size.
The true character of the car comes out on dirt roads and weavy canyons. It is a performance SUV for the environmentally conscious. The handling is tight and the engine is sufficient.
