Pros: Comfortable leg room, easy to get in and out and wide-viewing area. Cons: Uses more gas than a 4-cylinder. Turned out to be junk in five months.
Speeding into the retirement galaxy, we decided that maybe we ought to buy one more new car while we were both employed full time. We had a 2000
Honda CR-V, that only had 22,000 miles and ...
Pros: Comfortable. Good Mileage for a minivan. Easy to convert. Maintenance Friendly. Cons: Not the safest van on the market. Older design.
The van I have is a 2004 Extended Venture LS. I have 37K km *23K miles* and so far I am still extremely happy with my purchase. Between the Caravan, Freestar and Venture, my wife liked this the best. Out of the three, it's the most narrow, making it ...
Pros: If you try really hard, you can think of it as a functional minivan. Cons: Underpowered, poorly equipped, poor quality, disgusting GM plastic, cheap interior, and thats just the beginning
We lease vans for three years. And they had always, always been Dodge Caravan SE's. But in 2003, we required an eight passenger minivan. Sadly, our beloved Caravans only had seven seats at most. We did not want to support Asian import automobile ...
Pros: Roomy and comfortable.Good handling. smooth ride.Lot of storage room. Cons: Does not heat well in the interior of the car.Gas gauge problems.
I bought the extended wheel Venture 2004 in June of 2004 and recently I had to take it to the dealer for vibrations felt in the brake pedal when the heater fan is set at 3 or higher. They replaced the blower motor and it cured the problem. The second ...
Pros: Roomy, Runs great. Cons: gas guzzling, Can't see stop lights through windshield if your 6 ft tall.
We love our venture, very roomy, lots of seating, great sound, kids love the Dvd player, foldable seats are great, the only complaint I have is the it uses sooo much gas in such a short period of time.
Pros: Roomy (height and width),sound system, pick up,and in seat car seat. Cons: Nothing I can think of..
Best vehicle I have ever owned.Completely reliable, comfortable and rides GREAT!The pick up is great, factory sound system is clear, loud and great to listen to while you drive. In feel I get the proper MPG just as Chevy assures.Has a really excellent ride, feels like being in a limousine not an EXT van.I owned a Mazda MPV before this and did not compare to this van at the least!I have had no mechanical problems what so ever.Truly an excellent vehicle to own, take it from a mom of 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Ok yet very annoying small problems by mjv11 ,Oct 15 '04
Pros: Roomy and rides very well Cons: Lots of annoying small problems and much worse than advertised gas mileage
I bought this LS extended wheelbase mini-van in August of 2004 and within the first 3 months I had to take it to the dealership 4 times. The check engine light wouldn't shut off and it was later discovered that the sensors had to be replaced since standing water was in the undercarriage. I also had a recall on the child carseat.
Later the airbag light came on and wouldn't shut off. It was discovered that the electrical system had a sensor short in the passenger side airbag holder.
Additionally, the gas mileage is awful at only 20mpg on the highway and even less in the city and it is significantly worse than advertised.
That said, I can say that the vehicle is quiet inside and very roomy and the standard stereo system is good. I also like the fold down rear seat and the ease of use.
Pros: Room, power, price Cons: few squeaks and rattles
Good on long road trips (ME to OH). Comfortable and roomy for three kids and two parents. Very quiet interior. As for fuel economy, I got better than 600 miles on a single tank (partially city but mostly highway)!!!!!
2004 Chevy Venture - so far so good by mrcubfan ,Jun 17 '05
Pros: Good price, gas mileage vs similar vans Cons: Safety rating not as high as Ford Winstar
I haven't had it long, but I like the Chevy Venture van so far. Comfortable and smooth. Gas mileage is fine if you know how to drive! Mine is a 2004 LS with rear air and an extended back (seats 8). Unlike most, mine has a leather interior. It has only 9100 miles on it. I paid $17,900.
I ran a carfax report and found it was a rental car in Hawaii. Then it was sold at auction in the midwest to carmax who I purchased it from.
I'm debating about the $1,500 extended warranty that carmax offers. I have a couple more weeks to decide. I could also go to a dealer for a warranty as long as the 3 year 36 months isn't up. I don't know if I can get a dealer down to $1,500 on the extended warranty.
I was concerned about the engine size (3.4L), but when I test drove it, I was pleased with its acceleration capability.
Pros: size, comfort, initial cost Cons: cost to fuel
We leased this van last summer based mainly on price and expected fuel consumption - apparently the best in it's class. The van is comfortable with 8 passenger seating, and the seats are incredibly easy to maneuver. Ours is the extended version without the DVD player. Our options include AM/FM CD player, Air conditioning, power steering, ABS brakes, Power windows, keyless entry, 8 passenger seating. We opted out on the DVD because we would prefer to buy the portable DVD to remove from the car, etc.
I find that it is not good on gas as they say it is, it is quite expensive, actually. It drives nicely though, and is very roomy and comfortable. The interior is quite attractive with beige cloth seats, and the color we chose is pewter which is a light gold/silver color. Quite a nice color, but very popular. It seems that in any shopping centre parking lot you will find many, many, pewter Chevy Ventures parking there.
I recommend this vehicle for size, comfort, affordability (initially) but advise that the gas is quite expensive. In this day and age the price of gas is certainly a factor.
