This drive is a workhorse. I have the internal ATAPI model, and I've thrown everything at it-backup, CD copying, digital audio extraction, you name it and it comes back for more. Out of over 200 burns, I have only 2 coasters (ruined CD-Rs) to show for it, and those were my fault, not the drive's. While it may not write and re-write as fast as some of the newer models, and has no DVD capability, for everyday CD-R burning you can't go wrong with this drive. In addition, it comes with all the software you need to get started (depending on WHO you buy from - check this feature carefully before you order). You can pay ALOT more for Plextor and HP, but for my money this drive is the best CD-RW value going.
