I looked long and hard when selecting my newest desktop. I was sick and tired of buying the "economy" range models and had accumulated a sufficiency of liquid capital to purchase whatever I wished... I visited a veritible plethora of home pages looking for the best deal I could find. The Dell home page allowed me to select a package and/or build a system of my own... Initially, I selected the XPS T350 as the 600 was not available at that time. I made some changes to the amount of RAM, hard drive, etc. and arrived at a viable system for around $2000.
I contacted Dell, via e-mail and placed my order. Within 24 hours, my order was acknowledged, I was given a name and number of my contact person, and a ship date was stated. About two days later, the T600 became available. I called my point of contact at Dell and was told that the change to the faster processor would not be a problem and I would not encounter any delay in delivery.
I received my new system within a reasonable time frame and began unpacking it. The first thing out of the box was a large, colour pamphlet outlining the hookups, connections, and set up for the system. In less than one hour I had my new system up, running, connected on-line, literally burning up the airwaves.
I have used the system for about six months now and have experienced only minor glitches, usually operator errors, and have loaded it up with an extensive suite of programs. The system handles them all in grand fashion. It has not slowed a bit. Probably the 256Mb of RAM coupled with the 600Mhz processor has a lot to do with that.
All in all, I am completely satisfied with the Dell product, their service, and their promptness. One could not ask for a better company with which to deal.
