| M.A.Deshields's Full Review: Compaq Presario 5600 |
I was a ball afire tied to my 486 for sooo long.I had the need for speed 256 megs of ram on a 500 meg machine was the ticket I was after . It wasn't new so the bugs were worked out Right . The research was done for months and all fingers seemed to point to compaq and I added the extra insurance of getting it through Radio Shack not the most thrifty but there was a brother-in-law involved here.
I got the machine based on overall stats , reliability , warranty and nostalgia (everyone has had a compaq at one time or another?yes!)Well the thing performed wonderfully for Three months add a few Tsr's and mercy Oil Change Net Sonic and it was like walking in chewing gum on a hot day.Stripping and reloading several times and I am almost back to new I get a little better each time it for now it feels like my old 486 .
If you are new to computing and are using your system for the basics this would be find the more advanced folks will probably want something a touch more dependable.
