Cute FTP is a very easy FTP utility to use. It has many great features which will make it the only utility you will use.
First of all, I cannot understand why it is called "Cute" because the interface is just plain simple. There does not seem anything to be anything would classify it as cute. When you start the software you see your files on the left side of the screen and the FTP directory on the right side. When you double click on a file, you transfer a file from one place to another. The bottom of the screen displays a log of what actions have occurred, and during file transfer, it shows how much the file has been transferred and how much time is left. If you want to change FTP site, you just select the site from the menu, and poof, you are there. You can also save your list of favorite FTP sites so that you do not need to type them in each time.
There is one feature that I especially like about Cute FTP. That is you can copy a FTP site to the clipboard and Cute will automatically open up that site. This is wonderful if you are searching for FTP site in a web browser and want to access the FTP through a FTP utility.
I use Cute on Windows 98 and have never had a problem with its operation. It does not take up a lot of system resources, and you can even have multiple instances of the program open at one time. Cute FTP is available as shareware so that you can try it out, but after about 30 days you have to register it. It you use FTP a lot, the registration fee is well worth it. This is a great program.
