I guess such could be said...the card is too HOT to handle....
And by this I mean exactly that...for a long time I have had some problems with the card....regarding random crashes and multiple blue screens...
Took me little time to realize that the "error in GDI.exe" was related to the Banshee...
But I finally know the problem...this card overheat's a lot...
So now..I have to get a 486 fan so I can place it on the banshee over the Heatsink...I have been told it does the trick...
So, if we fix that, and this "Infernal" card stops crashing...I guess it would make a fairly decent card...the support isn't always the best, but adequate, usually problems will appear in some demos but the full game will actually run ok.(most of the times)
Also, I don't know why, but it has some problems with the ALT-TAB feature(makes the games crash when you try to get back).
Some game's problems will be solved by using the drivers from 3DFX.com, and doing that will make other games that worked stop working.
So, I guess overall, it's a nice card...if you want a cheap solution to 3D graphics.
Still, with this overheat problem it wasn't supposed to be up to us to get a fan for the card, not every one has a cool temperature environment around his PC.--(Windows just keeps on crashing)..
Why did I buy it:
Because it is a really good card at a decent price.
Who would benefit from it:
People who want 3D graphics at a lower price.
Recommended:
No
Amount Paid (US$): 100$
