DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS HARDWARE. I purchased this burner on a recommendation from a store clerk as an alternative to the highly rated ricoh. Upon opening the box, the installation was easy enough. The software bundle has too much unnecessary applications and not enough practical ones (for eg: I could'nt directly save data to a cd) Currently I have updated software to include CD Creator Deluxe 4.0. This burner is still doing strange things and I am not able to burn at 6 times either, which was supposed to be it's claim to fame. I cannot think of a reason why a company would claim it is smart and friendly when it is not, in fact, at all. Saving and recording mixed formats compilations is a real treat too, and I see no reason why it has to be such a problem. I am not happy nor satisfied at all. The player also has a difficult time when playing back recorded cd's from itself.
