All depends on your needs but I prefer the Palm

First you have to decide what do you want from your PDA. If you want a small computer then you will lean towards the Windows CE systems. If however you want ease of use and a great accessory to your PC you want a Palm OS PDA. I vote for the Palm OS but I know not everyone has the same needs as me so I will elaborate more on why I use the Palm OS.
Palm OS Wins:
1. Easy to Use: pick up the Palm and you will know how to use it right away. The software never seems to crash and it can be used by a child.
2. Great Battery Life: the Palm PDAs have great battery life. You can run a Palm IIIx all day long for a month on 2 AA Batteries.
3. Easy to read screen: I have had a hard time reading Windows CE screens in bright sun light. Sure they are color but it does no good if I can't read it.
4. Works with Macs: Many of the Windows CE devices will not work with Mac devices.
5. Lots of after market add ons and shareware (www.pilotgear.com): When it comes down to it number 5 is the big reason I like the Palm OS. You can get software and hardware to turn it into a scanner for inventory, a diet planner, a scientific calculator, a Starbucks locator or just about anything else you could want.
Windows CE Wins:
1. Color Screen: it looks great but it sucks battery power
2. More desk top like applications: If you want to do a spreadsheet or do email on your PDA CE is better but really, how long of a document can anyone write with a little pen tapping on a screen?
Can play MP3 and other audio files. Some also have voice recorders.
