I can honestly say that I will NEVER buy another IBM product!! When we decided to shop for our first PC, we decided that IBM was the way to go. We figured we couldn't go wrong with a well known company! WRONG! Right from the start we had problems with the computer. It made awful grinding type noises during start up and often shut down for no apparent reason. The computer was used every day..often for up to 12 hours a day. We were told that noises were normal so we thought nothing of the problem.
Finally one day the computer just didn't start up. The grinding noise became constant and basically we had a really expensive, useless ornament in our living room. Our one year warranty was up in less then a month so we decided that it had to be taken in. Unfortunately the store where we bought the computer no longer deals with IBM so the computer had to be shipped away. We were told it would be good as new in 3-6 weeks and were given a 1-800 number to call if we wanted to check the whereabouts of the computer.
After 3 weeks we called the number and were put on hold for over half an hour. 2 days later the same thing happened. We resorted to having the store call the company and were told that the part was in and we'd have the computer in less than 2 weeks. After OVER 2 months (9 weeks to be exact) we got the computer back. The only thing IBM did was change the hard drive, which should not have taken that long!!! They also decided that we should be charged $190!!!
After getting it home and spending hours reinstalling all the software it STILL doesn't work! It freezes up or shuts down for no reason and we can not multi task. I don't recommend ANYONE to buy an IBM!
