I cannot draw. I cannot paint. I can't even color a picture without getting outside of the lines! But with Print Shop Deluxe, I look like a professional!
I come from a very creative family. My Grandmother could draw and paint beautiful pictures, and this talent has passed to my younger sister Kat1021 - absolutely beautiful items! My older sister, Bettylynn, has such a talent for creating and serving original foods - her desserts should be displayed in a magazine! My mother, suzbo, has such a talent for organization - the United States Government should take lessons from her!
My talent, lies in ideas - but it is so frustrating to have great ideas and not be able to put them on paper. I can't seem to get the idea from my head onto a piece of paper and have to rely on someone else. Since I discovered Print Shop Deluxe, I find that I can think of an idea and carry through!
Several years ago, I was in charge of games for our annual family get together (I Made It Myself - where your gift to everyone must be something you made yourself.) I scanned in everyone's baby picture, imported them into Print Shop Deluxe and placed all 24 pictures on the page and TADA - The Baby Game! I simply numbered each picture, printed them out and everyone had to guess who was who. (of course I selected pictures where we were all about the same age and looked alike) They were impressed!
Next I scanned in all the old family pictures - all the Great and Great Greats in the family. I placed them all on the page, numbered the pictures and TADA - the Name Your Ancestor Game! They were impressed!
Even working on my family history, I am able to use Print Shop Deluxe. I can import photographs of family silverware, signatures, furniture or of family members and add the text to the page telling about that item. I then simply print them off and add to my book. When I gave copies of the Family History Book to the other members of my family, it made it really special to have the personal items right there. I even had a copy of my Revolutionary War Grandfather's signature! They were impressed!
Last year for I Made It Myself, I made Christmas gift tags to attach to everyone's gift. I scanned in each person's picture, added a background of Christmas trees, cut them into a Christmas tree shapes, punched a hole and inserted a red ribbon and TADA - a very unique gift tag. They were impressed!
Even for my gift, I used Print Shop Deluxe. I made jars of layered cookie mix, jars of layered seasoned rice, and jars of Mexican bean soup. For the recipe tags that I attached,I simply typed in the directions, copied several onto the page, printed on photo paper so they would be shiny looking, punched a hole and tied with a ribbon and TADA - very professional looking recipe tags. They were impressed!
My latest project involved my husband's family reunion - I am secretary of the group. This involves mailing reminder notices to all the family members and I really wanted to do something special. I scanned in old family reunion pictures (from the 1960s) and pictures of some Greats and Great Greats, placed them all on the page, added my text and TADA- absolutely wonderful Family Reunion Notices! I was even able to print on both sides of the paper so that I could have as many pictures as possible. They were impressed!
I already have the idea for my next project. Since I am again hostess for I Made It Myself, I am going to make placemats for the dinner. I'm going to scan in an assortment of pictures of each person, add a large colorful heading, print on 11 x 17 inch paper and TADA - I will have beautiful placemats that will also be placecards! They will be impressed!
Print Shop Deluxe is very easy to use. To resize a picture, simply move the corner of the picture/text box bigger or smaller - it could not be easier. I am by no means a computer wizard, and I find it very easy (I haven't ever read the directions either). I can't think of a single thing that I don't like about the program - It makes me look good! It makes me look talented! It makes me look like I worked hours and hours on a project that didn't take that long! You will be impressed!
