| blulegend's Full Review: Agfa SnapScan 1212p Flatbed Scanner |
This scanner was only $69 after a $20 rebate. But as always, the lower the price, lower the satisfaction for imaging hardware, or at least, this scanner proves it.
This scanner took about 15 min to scan an 8.5"x11" color image. It averaged about 2 min to scan a 2x3" descreened, color image, at 150 dpi. FOREVER! However with the magazine setting(descreen) off it scanned much, much faster. But still slow compared to my Epson.
The USB version may be better in speed though.
The quality of the image was excellent, but not if I have to wait that long. Images were sharp and color reproduction was good.
Software was decent as well. Kind of annoying for a power user. The ScanWise software wasn't the best and did not include very many advanced imaging options. There were no settings to produce quick, good quality copies.
There was also no buttons on the scanner itself except for a power button. What I did like about the scanner was that the light would turn off by itself after 15 min. of idling.
