Prior to owning this computer, I used a Mac, so obviously I am going to love this one.
Our old computer was on the skids and we needed a new one for schoolwork, online stuff as well as games and such. We had heard that Compaqs had a good reputation, so upon looking in a few stores, we checked out a bunch of compaqs. To tell you the truth, I knew very little about computers. So, as long as it has microsoft word, I can play my games, and go online, I'm happy. Believe me, it had a lot more than that.
The price fit well with the software we needed, as it came with a plethora of software already installed. Getting everything up and started didn't take long, because the directions were fairly easy to understand. Also, it was easy to put together and turn on, also.
The first time I used to it, I had very little trouble figuring things out, as it runs pretty much the same as any other PC out there. The speed amazed me. Still a year and a half later, it runs very well, even still that we have downloaded lots of files and we have used it a lot. It is an excellent computer, that is very easy to use.
About a year after we bought the computer, we purchased a scanner. Everything has run smoothly. We also have used a 56k ISP with it, and are now using a cable service. As you can see, it's very versatile and works well.
