The Creatives Labs 3D Blaster Banshee Video Card is a great alternative if you want solid frame rates but don't want to spend the premium for the new and shiny 3dfx Voodoo 3 Video card used for AGP ports in newer computers that support it in the motherboard usually of the last 2 years. The difference between the Banshee and the Voodoo 2 is the fact that it has 2D support as well as 3D support whereas the Voodoo 2 only supports 3D. Then bad thing about this card is that it is cripple slightly in the area of multipassing, and this greatly affects frames in games such as Quake 2 and Quake 3. But since the Banshee is in PCI and AGP format, and is relatively cheap, it is worth the buy if you are on a budget.
