best all around, except for the case

this is about my recent purchase of dell inspiron 5000e, with 700mhz cpu, 192mb ram, 16mb ati mobility-128 video card, 20gb hd and dvd-rom drive.
so far, i have used vaio xg18, 28 and z505jsk, acer travelmate 602ter, i will have to say Dell, though does not offer the mostly sturdy case/design, but the performance is truly superior!
first of all, the screen really rocks! very bright, side by side with Vaio's LCd quality. Audio is the best i have ever seen on a laptop, clear even in the highest volumn(which is suprising loud as laptop speaker). keyboard is comfortable, feel a little not so sturdy, but really in the best layout.
Price wise, it's really one of the best buy for Dell's quality. Though I do find the secret of the low price, you will find out most parts are from Korea rather Japan, even the DVD-rom is made by LG, rather than toshiba or panasonic which you will find on most of other brand names laptops. Hard drive on mine is Fujitsu, made in Tailand, and performs much faster than the IBM travelstar which is in Vaio, Acer, or maybe IBM Thinkpad.
Upgrade memory and HD will be all very easy, with easily accessible locations.
now, best part, the 16Mb ATI card, really rocks! running either game or heavy graphic programs like 3dmax and even Maya is fairely smooth. so far probably only IBM and Dell offer this option, and unless you had lots of money, dell is a much better deal.
now, weak part: the construction of the case. still do not understand why could not dell use Mag. Alloy, still stick with thin plastic. especially the LCD cover, you will have to use it very carefully. Got to have a very nicely cushioned bag when you travel. Never sit on it by accident, or you will lose it. just touch the back with your finger gently, you will sense the pressure on the LCD display. but if you do operately carefully, it is not a problem.
In general, in the frustrating market of Laptop shopping, the Dell inspiron 5000e with 16mb Ati card, clearly, easily stands out as one of the best buy.
