The Sound Maker live Has been knowen to be one of the best sound cards for a home movie setup. Using the Qsound 2.0 technoligy and Dimonds EAX and A3D. The Qsound 2.0 tech is a good hit on Genius side of things. It has all the advanced features. E.g Reverb, soud Expantion (Stero Spreeding)and Bass Enhancement (upping the bass levels when you up your 3D depth).
The EAX side of the Sound Maker Live uses the Qsound system to produce the same effect. But knowone will know the diffrence.
The Sound Maker Live Supports Multi channel Sound, with having an output for 4 speakers and one sub. this makes the Sound Maker Live a good choice for some one who likes gaming. This also help in listing to music and Movies, by being able to reproduce a home theature sound from the 4 speakers, enhancing the listing exp.
the Sound Maker live also came bundled with a Yamaha SYXG50 yamaha Software Synthesizer. This is one of the best Software Synths out there today only out clased by the new Yamaha SYXG100 which is very much the same. The Midi is clear and crisp and sound real. this shows that the SYXG50 is far more better than the Sound Blaster Lives own midi.
movies playback is one of the Sound Maker Lives Main purposes. by being able to decode the AC-3 dolby pro loguc track of a DVD throwing it into a 4.1 speaker setup giving you a full sounding system, sounding like you are really at the theature.
i tested the Sound Maker Live on a Vcd, the only diffrence on a VCD to A DVD is that it is lower quality and it has not got a AC-3 Dolbly track.
But from what i heard from this Sound Card on this movie, it was one of the best sounding sound card i have ever Heard.
So if you are thinking of bying a sound card, take in to acount that the sound maker live is a Cheap Good sounding sound card for a home or Work.
