I always chat online & hear everyone talking about Netmeeting to hold conversations. Well, tried it when I only had a microphone & a friend had a microphone & a webcam. Well, I liked the ability of him being on a webcam so I have a better idea of whom I am talking too. Plus it is good if you have your own home business & need to hold conferences talking to someone else that isn't close to you.
I went out to CompUSA & was looking to purchase a webcam. To my surprise they were many different brands of webcams to choose from. Out of all the webcams that CompUSA sold I choose the Intel webcam. I liked the way the Intel webcam looked & it was made by a well established name. So, knew I was getting a quality made product.
I not very computer literate when it comes to hooking up new computer toys to my computer. I usually let my son do that for me. This was the easiest computer item I have ever had the experience in setting up. I took it out of the box & connected the USB connector into the back of my computer then turned my computer on & had it boot into windows. Right then it identified it & loaded the drivers for it from the cd rom that came with it.
I especially like the software package that it comes with. You can make videos to send to friends or family. It also allows you to send postcard e-mails as well instead of a whole video. I tried it with Netmeeting & the picture I saw through Netmeeting really surprised me. Didn't think a small webcam like this could be so clear & easy to focus.
If your wanting to purchase a webcam for using in Netmeeting or making videos for friends or family you can't beat the ease of use with the Intel webcam. And they don't skimp you either with the software package. You get easy to use programs that are self explanatory
