You In Toronto??Get over to MDG Computers on Horner Ave!

Jan 09 '01

A few months ago my gentleman friend & I were in the market for a new computer. We scoured the electronics stores, read all sorts of consumer info, did all the prerequisite consumer investigative legwork.Computers are a lot of money, so we wanted to make sure we got a good bang for our buck.
I heard about MDG computers from word of mouth, & also a write up in Toronto Life magazine. The company came highly recommended. So one Saturday morning in November we drove over there to see what the big fuss was all about. In a matter of 40 minutes we were putting our down payment towards our new computer!
This computer came loaded! And can we talk about the price people??! Extremely reasonable, so reasonable you'd wonder if it was hot!
Here's what I got for exactly $1500. CDN funds(& that price includes the GST, PST.. FST!..WST!.. etc!!):
Intel Pentium III 833 MgHz, floppy drive & CD rom
17 " monitor
Koss Sterio Speakers
64 MG Ram
20 Gb hard disk space
Sound card
Vid card
56 K modem
System loaded with Windows 98 new version (We could have had the Windows ME but declined when we were informed by the sales staff that the program is not functional with many ISP's)
Software included - Microsoft Excel,Microsoft Money, Microsoft Encarta, Microsoft Expedia, & some type of thing with all sorts of maps & stuff which name eludes me just now! Also the usual Microsoft Word.
After using an antiquated system, so outdated I had upgraded the (get this) 1 GB hard disk space to 6 whole GB last winter, I nearly squealed with delight over the speed of this computer! After downloading only 2 or 3 internet essentials like yahoo messenger, ICQ, cheetachat, or real player on the old thing, the drive would have been so overloaded the poor thing would have crashed.
Not this beauty! It's perfect for my gentleman friend who suffers a chronic condition known as 'Downloaditis'! We have tons of room for all his little boy fun & games. He loves how quickly the page transitions evolve especially when he's visiting NFL.com, or Page3.com.
And I love the fact that the images don't look like photo negatives like they did on the old system!! How DID I survive it??
We are very pleased with our purchase. It's just as fine as any popular name brand system, but so easy on the pocketbook we laughed with excitement!
If you live in the Toronto area, or even Southern Ontario, it would be worth your drive to look up MDG computers on Horner Ave, & get yourself over there for the best deal imaginable in Computers! The MDG system is also sold on the Shopping Channel for those of you in other parts of Canada! It would even be worth the price of shipping alone - you'll still save a big bunch of money!!
