The Palm Connect USB kit is a useful product however it does not go that extra mile! What I mean is, most people want to buy USB because that is the current standard, however Palm insists on shipping serial Hotsync Cradles and then asks you to spend $50 on a serial to USB converter. The converter defeats the simplicity of the USB device. Palm needs to starting including USB cradle with a USB to Serial converter add-on for those users who have old technology.

I find the USB Connect kit, useful, however as with all USB converters they tend to "lose" the device occassionally which necessitates reinstalling the drivers. Palm has a USB Cradle which you can purchase for the same price as the USB converter. I would suggest going that way and then selling your Serial Cradle on Ebay for two-thirds of the upgrade cost.
