Let's get the bad out of the way first: Neomagic - the designers of the graphic and sound card - is the worst company known to man. Their website, www.neomagic.com, is terrible. I hate neomagic. Their graphics card is not compatible with anything. They don't even acknowledge that the MagicMedia ZX (which drives the graphics and sound for this machine) EXISTS!!!
On to the good:
I LOVE the way the machine looks. It's not too boxy (compare: ANY Toshiba notebook in existence) but not too... silly (cough cough Apple Ibook)
The screen is big, bright, and beautiful.
Dell's Suspend to Disk Utilities work wonders to save battery power - not that such is even necessary given the amazing power of the battery provided; I've gotten up to 4 hours of FULL USE out of the machine with only battery power. Better yet, they give the option of plugging in 2 batteries while on the road!
The processor is really fast. Really fast. Word starts up in like a second.
All told, this is an amazing machine. I had thought Dell didn't have the juice to compete in the laptop market, but I was wrong.
