| Mitchellie_JG's Full Review: Agfa SnapScan 1212p Flatbed Scanner |
I got this scanner because AOL was offering it cheap with a rebate, and I had been wanting a scanner. So I bought it, thinking, so the resolution is low, I can fix the pictures later.
Well here's a problem- I can't scan anything!
The first day I hooked it up, I installed the software, rebooted the computer, and tried to scan. It worked, I was happy.
A few days later I tried to scan another photo. I went to open ScanWise, and it says, hook up your scanner. I checked everything, and it still wouldn't work. Finally, I reinstalled the software. It worked.
Third time I tried to scan, it did the same thing. I am too annoyed now to try to reinstall again, so I plan to call customer support. Hopefully they will be able to tell me what I am doing wrong. Otherwise, I am going to auction the thing!

UPDATE!!
I had some friends over and we experimented with the devil scanner. Here's how it works: You have to turn on the scanner and printer, and then turn on your computer. So if you are working on your computer, and decide you want to scan something, you have to turn the computer off and restart it once the scanner and printer are on. This is a pain in the neck, but at least it scans quickly.
My one problem right now is that I don't really understand how to crop the photos that you scan, and how to rotate them and stuff like that. I think I may have to buy Adobe photoshop to use the scanner really well.
