I wish I could personally thank whoever invented the wonder of Rewritable CDs. These things are great! They hold on average 600 - 650 MB of space, which, when used for small sound wavs or text files, seems almost infinite. Imagine being able to put ALL your documents on one CD, and be able to move things around, delete or edit things, and utilize it just like a floppy disk. The HP CD writer allows you to do just that! - and more!
After physically installing the drive (an amazingly easy task) you are presented with a highly user-friendly and easy to understand installation program that takes you through everything step by step. Not only that, but from then on EVERY time you insert a non-formatted CD, a window comes up asking you, in simple terms, what you'd like to have the CD formatted for (saving text files, playing music in a cd player, playing sound files in the cd drive, etc).
You'll never make a mistake or get lost with this easy program! It even helps you print out cd jewel case covers for your music CDs. This drive and program even wins my parents seal of approval.. and they're so computer illiterate they can hardly tell a mouse from a microphone!
