by heathera1970 , Dec 04 '01
Pros: Very quiet, inexpensive, and fast for the home user.
Cons: Win XP does not provide driver support for my parallel port, flatbed scanner.
I recently purchased the following: the Dell 4300s with a 1.4 GHz P4 processor, 128 MB SDRAM, 20 G hardrive, 17 in (.26 dpi) monitor, the 16x/10x/40x cd-rw drive, Harman Kardon speakers, 56 K modem and a 16 MB ATI Rage Ultra 4x AGP video card.

Pros: Never locks up. Nice to look at! Love the black color!
Cons: Tech service is still tech service... ummm did you reboot? is the Plug in?
Okay I have had a computer since 1994. I was amazed at how my 486DX just signed onto the internet in record (4-5 minutes) time! hehehehe

Okay enough of the jokes about the dinosaur computer that we started with. We are now the proud owners...

Excellent computer if you know..

by bustamove7 , Nov 07 '01
Pros: Great price, power, speed, and reliability.
Cons: pretty lame tech support.
This is a great computer for the avg home user who is looking for a top of the line computer. A concern I have though, is that ever since I got this computer, I've tried to install some accesories (ie. scanner, cd-r, etc.), and ran into some small...

Pros: It's fast, fun, and it's a DELL!
Cons: None!
OK! I wanted yet another Dell, so I used DELL.com to price one out. After messing around with all the options for a couple of hours, I decided what I wanted. I use Dells EPP buy program becuase I get %15 becuase of where I work. But I called them up,...

Your New Xmas Box

by BigMonkey , Nov 29 '01
Pros: Affordable, quiet, and clean. A great mate for WinXP. Not bleeding edge.
Cons: Not bleeding edge. Older architecture might be strained in a few years.
Product lines are tricky things for buyers and sellers alike. Mess up--on either end--and you are out a lot of cash. With the 4300, Dell very nearly commits the cardinal sin of stepping all over its flagship, the 8200 line. What buyers have to do, is...

by terryjft , Nov 30 '01
Pros: Great bang for the buck. Well Constructed. Stable.
Cons: None
I have been using my Dell 4300 for about a month now. I do a lot of net surfing, and a bit of gaming. I do Civil Engineering work for a living and wanted a machine that would keep up with Autocad and Engineering software. Yes, the 8200 series is...

Background:
I purchased my Dell back in November, almost 1 year after purchasing my previous Dell (L800). I was so happy with my L800 that I had no hesitations buying another Dell!

Dell Computer

by nd31irish , Jun 10 '02
Pros: Easy to use and set-up
Cons: Hard drive takes a lot of room on a desktop
This is the best computer I've ever used in my life (and I've used a lot). I bought this computer when I went to college. It was incredibly easy to set up even for people who are clueless about computers. Dell puts colors on all of the cords and you...

A 'Dell'ight to use!

by fyvel , Jan 03 '02
Pros: Small tower, visually appealing, works great for small tasks
Cons: None, other than the $140 shipping
I am technologically impaired. I honestly don’t have the first clue about computers, so if you are looking for a review on the Dell Dimension 4300 that is full of technical mumbo-jumbo, then you are reading the wrong review. I am the everyday Joe (ok,...

A "value" pc with more than value performance

by cdcellar , Feb 18 '02
Pros: Big bang for the buck, Quiet, Plenty of bonuses
Cons: Dell customer support is horrible, excess programs aren't needed
I was off to college and I took the family compaq hostage with me. Too bad I destroyed the compaq to build a powerhouse of a computer. Anyway, my family at home was left without a computer and my sister had to do her middle school homework. Going to...

Dude, I love my Dell!

by huggle_bear , Mar 23 '02
Pros: Very fast, customizable options, and sleek, modern look (black). Quiet (see below).
Cons: Expensive, at least for me.
The last two computers I've owned have both been IBM's, which come as-is and typically combine most of the cards (sound, video, etc.) into the motherboard, which makes them difficult, if not impossible, to upgrade. I wanted a computer that I could choose...

Pros: Fast P4 processor, great bundled software, low price
Cons: Not enough RAM, bad video card
My family bought a Dell 4300 this past Christmas, and it was about time after owning a Compaq for over 3 years. It instantly supercharged all of my programs, and the included Windows XP Home Edition made everything much simpler. The system also includes...
