Pros: Excellent tech-support, good processor speed, and great monitor. Cons: Performs poorly with Windows ME, and can be very costly.
When the Dell dimension 8100 series computer package arrived upon my doorstep I was ecstatic--that was until I received the bill. This pricey gem is a great performing computer with top of the line components and as always reliable technical support by...

Pros: Fast, came with everything I wanted at a good price. Cons: Windows ME, Tech support hold times don't live up to their legendary status
Let me start by saying that I had to finally replace the old Pentium 133. A Palm Pilot looks fast compared to my old machine. After months of research I finally took the plunge and got A Dell 8100 with the 1.3 Pentium 4 processor.
My machine...

Pros: Fast and Fun Cons: 2 Major Hardware failures in less than a year. Refurbished parts.
Dell is a company that has cut one too many corners!!!Its hardware is cheap and tech support is awful. I too can read out of a windows error manual! Don't be fooled by that 3 or 4 year warranty. That entitles you to fix your own computer with the help of...

Pros: Speed, performance, looks, value, and ease of use make this an excellent overall package Cons: I have had the computer for 3 months and have no serious complaints
I have been upgrading an upgrading a P-II 400mHz for about 2 years now and ran out of room. The last straw was a CD-ROM rewritable drive that I couldn't get the bugs out of so I started shopping for a computer...
If you are like me and insist...

Pros: Outstanding Value for Money, performance, after-sales support is second to none. Cons: Low quality monitors, some niggling unreliability
Having been a user of Dell equipment in the office for some years now, when it came the time to replace my venerable Pentium I system at home, I decided to go for the 8100 series. I opted for the 1.3GHz P4 model, on account of its outstanding value for...

Pros: Excellent Gaming power, you get your money's worth Cons: The Pentium Four is not yet completely optimized for desktop programs such as Microsoft Office.
From the moment I first purchased this machine just before Christmas, I knew it was going to be monsterously powerful system. Unfortunately, due to a lack of parts during the buying rush of the holidays, namely the hard drive, the computer was not...

Pros: Speed, looks, stability, time to receive Cons: price, original configuration
I have been shopping around for a new computer so I could turn my old Gateway P3 550 (which I do not recommend) into a Linux Machine running Mandrake 8.0 and have read many reviews about this product with mixed reviews. As in everything in life,...

Pros: fast, stylish, tech-support, Cons: OS(ME), pricey
Let me start out by saying that the Dell Dimension 8100 series is EXCELLENT. When I first opened up the box I was impressed with the stylish case. After that I had the computer out of the box and running in minutes. It was simple to use and very...

Pros: Nice look, decent price. Cons: Not as powerful as it's made out to be.
Despite the brand name, the seemingly fair price, and the bonus deals the Dell offers, Dell's best desktop series, the 8100, is not worth the money. In purchasing this system you will likely spend around $2000. With Dell's constant use of special offers...

Pros: Easy to set up and use.Powerful system. Cons: EXPENSIVE
Well, after my nightmare with Gateway (see that opinion from me too if interested), I decided to try Dell. It had gotten excellent reviews, and I wanted a company that was reputable and stands behind their products.
Here's what I got:

Pros: Rock-solid, robust platform; outstanding technical support Cons: Not nearly as fast as one would expect from a 1.4 GHz CPU
Dell's 8100 series may be a good machine, but it seems to be a little ahead of its own time. Existing operating and application systems do not seem to run any faster on this 1.4 GHz platform than on my old 550 MHz Pentium III. I've read that it may be...

Pros: Fast Computer, Great to Use Cons: Price?
In mid-December I realized that it was time to upgrade my 300 MHZ, 64 MB RAM, Pentium 2 system. I had heard great things about Dell so I decided that it would be a good idea to buy a computer from them.
I ordered a Dimension 8100 Series Computer...

Pros: High tech look in a black and silver box with Dell's name stand behind it. Cons: P4 suppose run faster, but it is about the same as the P3. Sometime slower!!!
I got the Dell 8100 about six months ago, when it got to my house, I was excited and wasted no time put the computer together and powered up the 8100 to see this cutting edge masterpiece works. I must admit that Dell's instruction to connect the...
