Pros: stability, improved interface, increased speed (over ME) Cons: Not fully compatible with Win9x and Win2000, privacy concerns, most necessary upgrades not free

Pros: Much more stable than the 9X/ME series. Cons: With its introduction, it begins a new wave computing that may have some privacy concerns.
Microsoft releases a new Operating System. Big deal right? We’ve seen it all before, do more and do it easier. Well, Windows XP promises both and much more! But does it deliver?

Pros: Fairly stable OS, and nice looking desktop environment Cons: Still pricey
Not as many features as the professional, but takes up same space
Should I get XP? And if so, which version should I get; this home edition or the professional version? First, let me start off by saying that if you have Windows 98 or 98SE and everything is working fine maybe you should not get Windows XP just yet…...

Cons: Backwards compatibility even with Windows 2000 software packages cannot be guaranteed.
Authors Note: I decided because of length to split this review into three parts; one covering the software package overall, one detailing the installation process and first impressions, and one detailing my trials and tribulations (there were...

Pros: Ease of use, automatic download features, straight-forward presentation Cons: Every version 1.0 will have bugs and this is no exception
First off, every 1st series version of a new software program or a computer platform will have it's share of bugs and glitches, both known and unknown, expected and unexpected. Windows XP is no exception to this rule. However, so far, the only glitches...

Pros: nice look and feel, stable, integrated with the Internet Cons: I still don't like the activation concept
I didn’t want to like Windows XP. I was biased against it from the start due to Microsoft’s new software activation system. However, despite myself, I find that I like Windows XP and it has become the primary operating system that I use on my computer....

Pros: Noticeable speed improvements. Stable, intuitive, reliable. Cons: Has stringent system requirements. Not always suitable for an older computer.
I've owned a lot of computers in my time. A LOT. I've had computers of every variety. UNIX workstations, old DOS PCs, Macs and yes, every flavor of Windows that has ever come out. My husband is the exact opposite. He knows Windows and he ...
