Pros: three version depending on what you need, feature rich, easy to use Cons: none
Notetab by Fookes Software is a text editor. It comes in three versions. Notetab light, Notetab Standard, and Notetab Pro. Notetab Light is freeware and the two other versions are commercial software with 30 day trial periods. It is for use on Windows...
Pros: Excellent Freeware Text and HTML Editor Cons: None
NoteTab Light
The NoteTab family includes NoteTab Light, NoteTab Standard, and NoteTab Pro. In this review, I evaluate NoteTab Light, which is a freeware text and HTML editor. Along with the other members of the product line NoteTab...
Pros: powerful, free or low cost for pro versions, small footprint Cons: none
I have been doing web development for 6 years, and have been searching for the perfect tool for web development, and one that does not add extra garbage, has most of the tools in an easy to find place.
Pros: Flexible, powerful, customizable AND it fits on a floppy!!! Cons: Although flexible, it's mostly for advanced users
How do I love Thee, NoteTab? Let me count the ways...
I code the vast majority of my HTML by hand. I have used NoteTab Pro every single day of my life for over 3 years and can't even IMAGINE life without it!
Pros: An incredibly full bag of features Cons: Runs only on Windows 95/98/NT
The NoteTab family of text editors are my preferred tools for creating webpages -- and for doing most other text editing tasks. They are products of Fookes Software and available for download from the company's website:
Pros: powerful scripting ability, multiple files open, outlining capability Cons: few, if any
I first began using NoteTab as a programming editor, which it does remarkably well. I became so comfortable with it that using it began spilling over into other computer-related areas. When I started work on a novel, it was the logical choice. The...
Pros: fully customizable; a whole slew of useful and powerful features Cons: a little advanced at first but easy to figure out; might not run well on slower systems
This is the most friendly, powerful, and essential program I have on my computer (besides the OS, maybe!). Note Tab Pro ($20, last time I checked) was written as a replacement for Windows' Notepad text editor, but it far surpassed that goal.
Pros: quick, lightweight program that does what it's supposed to Cons: none I can think of.
I spent some time looking at HTML editors, not really serious about getting one, because I'd pretty much decided to stick with notepad. I saw a reference to this program somewhere on the web, and decided I was bored enough to try it out.
My notepad...
Notepad.exe the old windows favorite was sunk when NoteTab came about. I personally use Notetab for editing of Perl script, Miva, and other web related code.
With it's clipbooks system some editing tasks are made easier. I have the Javascript...
Pros: Fast and Reliable Cons: Might be difficult for beginners
This tool allows you to do so much yet the Lite version of Note Tab is so incredibility better than the classic "Note Pad." The sky is the limit with this application. With ease you can import tags from a pop-out menu that you select from the...
Pros: Free, open multiple windows, better user interface Cons: No spell check, features don't work too well
When I starter coding in HTML, I used Notepad because it was simple and it was already on the computer. Soon after I realized that there were better options out there. I started out using a program called HTMLpad, but then I stopped because it just...
Pros: Freeware, every HTML tag and attribute Cons: None
I recently installed NoteTab for writing WWW pages, and wondered why I never downloaded a non-WYSIWYG editor before. Simply put, NoteTab is great. It's basically like any text editor, with the exception of every HTML tag and attribute...
Pros: Pro and Light blow away the competition Cons: It's for windows, and windows sucks
I began working with NoteTab Light (freeware) sometime ago, for professional webpage editing. When you have an enormous site to handle, full of dynamic bits and pieces, there is simply no better program to use. While the light was 100% better than...
Pros: Easy to use, fast, inexpensive, flexible Cons: Only does syntax highlighting for HTML, must download spelling dictionaries and thesaurus
I've tried dozens of text/HTML editors. And the one I keep coming back to is NoteTab. Why? It does everything I need it to -- edits text, builds and checks HTML pages, interfaces with my Web browser and e-mail client, and more.
Pros: Easily configurable Cons: Might be a little difficult for beginners at first.
I'm always on the hunt for a good HTML Editor. preferably a FREE Good HTML Editor. and Notetab has answered that call.
Notetab lite is the freeware version of Notetab, but don't let the "Lite" Fool you. There is nothing Lite about this program...
