The Bottom Line: If you want excellent quality at a good price, this is it. Customer service is friendly. Excellent design. I would not pause to recommend this monitor.

Forget NEC, Viewsonic, and Mag. This is just as good if not better for probably less money depending on where you shop.
I bought the 955SL for under $300 from www.Egghead.com (You can get it cheaper by using www.pricewatch.com , but when I went to order, many places prices went up because this monitor is becoming more popular and Egghead was having a flat rate 6 dollar shipping fee in January!), plus I got a $30 rebate from Samsung. They have frequent rotating rebate offers. Watch www.samsungmonitor.com for rebates.
The picture is clear and bright and the design is a short depth design (sometimes referred to as short neck or short length) so it takes up about as much desk space as a 15" or smaller 17" standard monitor. The cabinet is aesthetically pleasing. Not overly square and box like. The advanced digital screen controls are easy to use and very good. Better than what the average user needs. The dot pitch is .22 MM in (H) .15 MM (V). .26 mm diagonal pitch. The result is a nice crisp picture. Colors are nice and warm. It also supports Nutek Energystar which is a newer power management rating available and not many monitors are using it yet. On average, this monitor only runs on 115 watt maximum as opposed to the average power rating of 150 watt that most monitors use. I believe that in sleep mode it burns 8 watt on hour. Samsung deserves a better name in electronics, and this monitor shows it.
