Re: :) (Reply to this comment)

I had one of these and it was garbage. It was next to impossible to wring out and didn't do a good job of cleaning floors. Another annoying habit it had was having strings break off for no apparent reason. It happened while I was mopping and also when I tried wringing out the mop.

What A Waste of Money! (Reply to this comment)
by mizceegee
I hate having to ring out a nasty wet mop that I just cleaned the floors with. So when I saw this mop (and it was on sale too)I thought my troubles were over. Boy, was I wrong. After struggling to put it together (the mop was not attached)when I went to ring it out it just kept slipping and going around the pole. I took the mop head off to wash it (another chore in itself. It washed well enough. It came with a second mophead, so now, the struggle to put it onto the mop stick began again. GROAN! This mop is worse than a regular deck mop. Joy Mangano needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. The concept is great, but the execution of the design is awful. I see it's no longer sold at the HSN web site...I wonder why????

I noted that you have used her huggable hangers ?
As most 'seen on tv' items are marginal at best would like some feedback on these vs. the standard hanger most of us own. Are they truly worth HSNs high tax and shipping fees? did your closet truly feel 'new ' LOL more space, etc.?
thank you in advance for your time,
Cristine

My Experience with the Original Miracle Mop (Reply to this comment)
by becann
I do not agree that the Miracle Mop is a terrible product. My experience has been that it really does do a good job of cleaning floors. Of course, it is standard procedure to sweep or vacuum the loose dirt before using any wet mop. When one properly prepares the floor for wet mopping, dirt and lint will not be pushed into the corners.
My main problem with the Miracle Mop is that it is heavy and unwieldy to manage and is difficult to twist the excess water out. That does require quite a bit of strength. I would say the mop is better suited for male users that female, unless she is a body builder. But I thought the other reviews were excessively harsh, because the mop does do a good job of cleaning.

Believe me, we've all been there... (Reply to this comment)

Several years ago, my wife and I got snookered by a snake oil salesman at a home show that sold us a similar mop.
It turned out to be a totally useless piece of junk, still hanging in the broom closet since it caused a mess on the floor with each use. We should take it out once a month and beat each other with it as a lesson.
Thought we had gotten a steal, two for one deal... we conspired with another couple in the crowd to steal it at half price. As for the lifetime warranty... I'm sure the road show's moved west by now... giddy up!
Oh well, I'm sure you'll find a good use for it even if it has absolutely nothing to do with cleaning floors.

What a great negative review! I do love her huggable hangers, however. They are great for packing!

I'd wondered if these mops actually worked, now I know---and with a bit more humor than if I'd bought one.

Cornerz! . . . (Reply to this comment)

You managed to say just about what I was planning to say . . . only much more cleverly, Beverly. I have an $8 Walgreen's version of this type of twist mop and I still prefer to get down on my hands and knees and scrub (no smart-a** comments, please).

Oops, sorry (Reply to this comment)

Sounds like you got put through the wringer. My condolences. Have Bela give you a big lick to help you deal with this.
But, look on the bright side, your Mom got a great laugh out of it, and you could share your tale of woe with fellow/fellette epinioners.
Great job w/ humor added!

Could do this mop the justice you have done it, Helen.
Now I know why it is that I always love reading your reviews.
Great job - you saved me a bundle. LOL....

I remember watching the mop glop up that egg (Reply to this comment)

and thinking, "Blech! Now what do you do with it?"
They don't show that part.
I'll admit -- those infomercials can do in your best sensibilities. If you're interested in a Super Slicer with attachments I can sell you one ... CHEAP!
'Love it when you write,

Don't feel bad about your mother laughing, I fell for the same thing too. I then could laugh at my daughter when she bought one.
