Pros: Simulation, Virtual Airlines, fun.
Cons: Not enough aircraft, runs horribly on older machines.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy FS 2002, wait until FS 2004 comes out shortly

If you like to fly this is the program for you, highly detailed, however only some cities have gates, and they don't match up with the doors on the planes, or link to them. You can fly anywhere in the world, it has most of the worlds airports, obviously it doesn't have all of them, but alot of them. If you have a older machine, like my old Dell P3 at 500mhz, many of the cities do not run smoothly, but if you have a newer computer like my Toshiba M15 laptop then the program runs great. It fully installs onto your hard drive and does not need a cd to run the program. However as far as airport and city detail, I give it a fair rating, many of the airports look all the same, (as far as the buildings go) unless it is one of those high detailed airports, ex. SFO, SEA, HK, Heathrow, Chicago O'Hare, LAX,and LAS. Those are the only ones that look somewhat like the real thing. As far as the city goes, well those are just poor, trees look unrealistic and so do the mountains with snow on them. The clouds look fake and are thin, and then several things change when you get below the cloud cover. Many airports such as Detroit do not have the current terminals, however it does have the building there, Concourse A at least, except no main terminal and it's in the wrong spot. No Concourse B or C. As far as the planes go, there OK, you can open the main door on most of the aircraft, and are supposed to be able to open any door, however I have never got it to work. The engine sounds are not really that great, nor are the cockpits. The tire smoke from landing looks pretty cool, however there are no smoke from the eingines. There are no virtual airlines with hubs or schedules built into FS, however you can join one online. There are several aircraft, most of them Props, with the jets being the Boeing 737-400, 747-400, 777-300, and the Learjet 45, however I was disappointed to see that the new FS 2004 coming out adds no new boeing aircraft or Airbus aircraft, however you can download many of these online for free or pay a small fee. So overall it is a good program that is fun to use, however it needs several updates to become "As real as it gets"
So FLY away with FS 2002.
