Care2 is more than a free email address – it’s a community. This is one of the better subcultures on the Web. There is more to see and do here than you could possibly imagine. Not only do these high quality perks do more than validate your time - they give back to the community.
Care2 is all about helping to protect the environment. The give 10% of their revenue to Environmental Non-Profit Organizations - This means donations are being made each time you view their advertisers banner ads! 400 merchants offer over two million products where the environment gets a cut of that action, too. Partners, sponsors and affiliates claim the likes of Borders, Dell, Disney and more.
A large selection of email greetings is available to entertain yourself and others. Care2 commemorates National Pig Day and I Want You To Be Happy Day. The selection is wide and diverse with such exciting cards as the animated Snowball Fight and Cakesaver - where you have a hammer, bug spray and cat to eliminate the mice and roaches. A little heads up – Alien Abduction Day is March 20th this year.
Care2 community offers a plethora of channels to stimulate your online interests. Join numerous discussions in the Eco-Info Channels and explore links from green business to wildlife. Every page offers fresh news worthy content, an e-card to send and a retail purchase opportunity. These bountiful gifts from the Eco-Shop are the least bit invasive. After all, this is a feelgood site.
Two daily contests - Race for the Rainforest & Race for the Big Cats - help save acreage of habitat for these critters thanks to your initiative. This is usually a good spot to bookmark one of your new browser favorites. It’s easy to return to the page and click when you see the colorful pictures of the beautifully captivating tiger, jaguar and snow leopard.
You can customize your own startup page – including personal stock pages. You can also build photo albums of your pets or set reminders for special events and birthdays.
The email service is good with the exception that you have to access your email via the site. This isn’t so good as the site isn’t 100% reliable. I am not sure if this is due to traffic congestion or not. Here you also have to log in to your account to access your online address book. You can track your last twenty cards sent and even monitor future deliveries. The mail service even offers spam filtering and a 12-language spell checker. Como esti, bien?
Care2 has even partnered with Homestead.com so you can build your own personalized homepage. You have to enjoy a site that, unlike others, doesn’t take itself too seriously and encourages you to visit their sponsor - PiggyPoop.com.
