| cmh3145's Full Review: Sony Digital Photo Printer DPP-EX5 Dye Sublimatio... |
The Sony DPP-EX5 photo printer offers tremendous quality and ease-of-use in a small footprint. While some may complain that the ribbon and paper supplies are expensive, they actually break down to about 51 cents per print -- about the same as a reprint from a typical camera shop. But unlike camera shops, the DPP-EX5 gives you professional results in 90 seconds without leaving home. In addition to its USB interface, the DPP-EX5 can be hooked to the A/V inputs of your TV/VCR for viewing and editing (if your pictures are on a Sony memory stick, that is). About the only complaint to offer is that Sony's built in memory reader is for memory sticks only -- the DPP-EX5 can't handle Smart Media, Compact Flash, or SD/MMC cards directly. All in all, a great value for those seeking superior 3.5"x5" or 4"x6" prints on a demand basis.
