Pros: well built laptop, great graphics and good intel 750 mhz cpu.
Cons: very heavy, unit gets way to hot not enough fans to keep the laptop cold.
The Bottom Line: Well built laptop, but needs a MUCH BETTER INTERNAL COOLING SYSTEM, then the one small fan it houses.

I bought my Dell Inspiron about 2 years back. It was loaded with 512mb of memory a DVD drive, ATI graphics card with 8mb of ram, and super disk 120mb 3 1/2 inch disk drive, and also a 15.4 inch svga monitor. All powered by an Intel 750mhz cpu. I was trilled with laptop for the first few months till one day when I left the unit on for 6 hours and went to turn it off, I nearly burned my hands as the laptop get too hot. So I called up Dell and waited 45 minutes for a laptop tech person to become free. He didn't give any good information. After searching the internet I quickly found out that I was not alone. To sum things up. The Dell inspiron is a great laptop if you don't mind the amount it weigh's. Also the Dell inspiron's have problems with windows 98 if you put the computer on standbye it never wakes up. There's only one small powered fan in the unit to cool it, which doesn't not do the job. If your like me you will have remove the graphics card cover and memory cover and let the system cool down that way. It will take about 2-3 hours. One thing is for sure the laptop is well built it hardly ever crashes in windows(unless you put the system on standbye). If I could go back in time before I bought this laptop I would have done more research before buying it.
